The Pelican 1506TSA Lock is a 3 digit combination lock that is TSA approved. This allows the checked luggage to remain protected, because the TSA baggage screeners have special codes and tools which will unlock it. They relock the bag after inspection. While designed for Pelican cases, this lock obviously will work with many other cases. It has a stainless steel hasp that does not corrode.

I ordered two of these when I ordered my Pelican 1410 carry-on. They looked all right in the online photo, but when I received them, I decided they would be my lock of choice for any of my luggage that needs a padlock (zippered duffel bags, etc.). The locks are sturdy, and the cable engages and disengages with a satisfying 'click'. The semigloss finish of the ones I got is grey, with a touch of champagne. Their being TSA locks, it's comforting to know they're not going to get snipped by luggage checkers, and satisfying to be making the lives of those in security a little easier.
My only suggestions would be to make the cable just one gauge heavier (I don't know if that's practical), and if the tumblers' clicking were a little stronger, it would provide good tactile feedback while turning them.
Definitely a good value; I'll be acquiring a couple more of them with my next order.

I bought two of these locks in the hopes to protect my equipment. I know that if someone wants in, they'll get in...but I was hoping for a little better quality. This lock can be broken in two ways without tools.1) If on a pelican Case, then the thief can just pry it open with their bare hands(leverage).2) By pulling on the lock and starting at the bottom, rotate the numbers until you feel which is the easiest to rotate. That is the first number. Repeat for all other numbers from bottom up. I set a number and let my wife at it. It took her 30sec to crack this lock. Poor tubular construction, on par with cheap bike locks. Not worth [$].- Buy something else. This lock compares in quality to a zip tie. OK for regular luggage that you are not worried about, but then you could again save you money and use a zip tie for those as well.

I use this to lock my underwater camera case when I travel. It is comforting to know that TSA will be able to open it if inspection of luggage is necessary, without have to cut the lock. It is for Pelican air/water tight case, it works beautifully!

Comments about Pelican 1506TSA Lock:
Its fits nicely keeping safe, this helps when shooting events. Keeping peekers and thieves from snagging your equipment when your to keep an eye on it.
I accompany this with a bike chain or something to wrap around my case. If I am on the streets shooting not only is the case locked but its bound to something.
This is if you can't afford to have things stolen!

Made perfect for a pelican case. Cable wire make it easy to slip through the lock holes of a pelican. Not too long where you can open the pelican and have access, but not too tight where you can have a hard time latching it to the other end of the lock.

Comments about Pelican 1506TSA Lock:
I used this lock on a pelican 1510 (the TSA approved carry-on case). It offers a fake security measure... even with the locks in place on the case, I'm still able to open the latches and removes contents. It's not a very sturdy lock and the wire latch is too long.

Comments about Pelican 1506TSA Lock:
I use this on a pelican case. Flexible wire makes it very handy for all small lock uses. I like that you can latch it without locking it. Provides visual security without the hassle of actually locking when traveling through multiple security checks, etc.

a bit smaller than the picture shows but who wants a huge bulky lock flapping around when cruising through the airport? it's really the perfect size and has a nice "click" confirmation when it's closed

Simple setup and easy to use. I have these locks on my Pelican 1490, 1510, 1550, 1600, 1610 and 1650. Ive traveled to across the United States, Caribbean, Europe and the locks are still 100% functionally.
The slim design allows the locks to fit the case where other locks wont fit due to the size of the lock.

Comments about Pelican 1506TSA Lock:
We bought a set of locks to secure three Pelican cases we use to transport our video kit around the world. The locks deter petty theft and can be opened by Customs officials without damaging our cases or the equipment inside. If you want to have a lock that cannot be broken then these locks are not for you, but we figured if someone was so determined they would break into the cases anyway.

I don't like the idea of airport security cutting locks off from our camera cases. These TSA locks are the only option to lock our gear from unofficial access.
