Lower the power to 8.5 W/s, and switch to slow recycle and up to 3800 exposures can be made before recharging is needed.
Included in this kit is the Varistar 33" Umbrella-Softbox. It is easy to assemble and lightweight, and offers wide, even and soft illumination. It is suited for portraits and shots of 1 - 2 people. Add a light stand of your choice to complete this kit.
Elinchrom Ranger has flash durations as short as 1/4310 sec. (with 2 "A" heads attached), ideal for sports, fashion, and theatre photography. Controls on the pack permit changing the output in 0.1 stop increments in an easy-to-read digital display.
This is a 1 head kit which includes a Freelite "S" flash head. "S" Heads produce a "Standard" flash duration. The "A" heads provide ultra-short flash duration. Comments about Elinchrom Ranger RX 1100 W/S To-Go Kit:
I have used alien bees in the past and othe nikon sb900 speed lights but enough even power. This light system is freaking awesome, the color is among the best and right upto profoto. It is easy to set up. My only complaint is that you can not adjust a second head power seperatly from the other. You have to use filters.

Comments about Elinchrom Ranger RX 1100 W/S To-Go Kit:
The speed time is awesome! And the light comes out so white and not yellowish like some other strobelights. I recommend this for anyone who is wanting a travel strobe. Amazing purchase!

Comments about Elinchrom Ranger RX 1100 W/S To-Go Kit:
This is kit is awesome.
First, this kit is priced the same as the Ranger RX pack alone. It comes with virtually everything you need, except radio transceivers (PocketWizards or Skyports). (You will need a separate cable to connect PocketWizards.)
Second, for the power and the features all considered, this kit is extremely inexpensive.
Third, since it is an Elinchrom product, you can use all the available Elinchrom modifiers and use a multitude of others with the correct speedring adapters.
The quibbles:
- Not very clear manual
- The case is good until you find one you like better
- Like all Elinchrom heads, the way you connect speedrings or reflectors is one of the worst systems out there. Profoto, Broncolor, etc. have better mounting systems, but you're going to pay for that ease of use.
- Slow recycle at full or near-full power. But you would expect that of a battery powered pack.
I haven't used it more than about 10 times so far, but the light quality has been excellent. I've even brought it into the studio to use in tandem with some monolights. I'm impressed with how well it can keep pace at lower (and moderate) power settings. I've shot a few hundred shots with it at third and half power. Still had a considerable amount of charge left.
I've used it with the wide reflector to fill a large, dark warehouse. I've used it with a large Photoflex softbox to take family portraits in tight spaces. (With those two examples, it shows how you can crank up the power or power it down for a softer look in a small space.) I'm awaiting the 27" Elinchrom beauty dish to use in some outdoor fashion/advertising tests. I do suggest using a weighted C-stand, especially if using anything larger than a medium softbox. It might not be as expensive as a Profoto setup, but it's not Alien Bees. Keep it secure. You don't have to buy a sandbag if you use a C-stand because you can hang the strap of the pack on the tightening screw.

Comments about Elinchrom Ranger RX 1100 W/S To-Go Kit:
This kit by Elinchrom is absolutely fantastic. The heads are very lightweight, yet they have a very durable construction and do not feel flimsy in the slightest. The color temp produced by these heads are very consistent throughout the entire power range.
This kit has proven itself to be the best on location setup for the price. It also doubles as a great studio background setup, especially when you add the second head to the kit.
