[...] The eraser as advertised shuts off after about 5 minutes of use. This is not convienent when erasing multiple tapes. It does however erase the tapes well when the clearly stated directions are followed.

I use this product to erase mini hdv tapes. It seems to do the trick but after a lot of time holding it close to tape - much more than the directions indicate.. It's heavy and hard to hold for doing more than a few tapes at a time. But it does eventually erase the tapes which is what it is suppose to do. Would prefer that it erased tapes in the 1 minute indicated in the directions.

It does the job, but tape has to be erased 4-5 times. In the process the eraser shots down and you have to wait half an hour for the next cycle. If you have only a few tapes it's ok, but if you have more, I would not recommend it.
