I acquired the pad to see if it would provide traction for an Apple Magic Trackpad, which I have placed on a swivel podium in order to gain more real estate on my desk. The podium is fitted out with some kind of cloth surface -- great for a drag mouse, lousy for the Magic Trackpad. Too soft. It works better when I place a thin brittle sheet between the Belkin pad and the Magic Trackpad. The Belkin is fine for a conventional mouse, but NOT as a base for the Magic Trackpad.
