The lamphouse of the Omega Super Chromega F provides an evenly distributed, repeatable, non-fading light source and dichroic filtration system for enlargement of negatives and transparencies of either color, black and white or variable contrast papers.
Precise filtration is achieved by means of specialy designed dichroic filters which transmit the intended color component of a white light beam to match the characteristics of various color emulsions, and reflect the complimentary color.
Sophisticated dichroic coatings are applied in multiple layers of microscopic thickness. As a result, Super Chromega dichroic filters offer the greatest filtration range (0-170) ever achieved in 8" x 10" dichroic filtration systems.
Filtration settings are numerically displayed on large, illuminated "drum" scales and marked in increments of .05cc for precise control and repeatability. The dichroic lamphouse consists of the lamphouse, cooling system and power supply.
- Built-in infrared filters, mounted in the entrance parts next to the mixing chamber are designed to reduce the adverse effects of infrared rays on color materials
- Contains four 250watt quartz halogen lamps with built-in reflectors ensuring uniform illumination over the full 10" x 10" opening and permitting short exposure times.
- Lamps will not blacken with age
- A set of interchangeable light intensification masks is available as an accessory
- Control lever retracts the filtration assembly out of the light path permitting full power "white light" for focusing and composing without disturbing filter settings
- Efficient cooling is provided by a heavy-duty, wall mounted fan assembly which connects to the lamphouse by means of a durable, flexible coupling hose
- Internal thermostat located in the lamphouse will automatically turn off all four lamps if the inside temperature of the lamphouse exceeds 130° F. When lamphouse cools, normal operation can be resumed
