The Logitech Desktop USB Mic has a pleasing appearance and good audio quality at a reasonable price. My primary use of the mic is for Skype calls. The "power" button allows me to mute the mic so I can listen the call over my speakers without having echo but to easily un-mute when I am going to speak.

Very affordable and good quality sound. I use it for creating online video tutorials, and I'm very pleased with the upgrade from my Mac Book Pro built in mic.
It feels like better quality than I expected as well. It has a little weight to it for a plastic mic.

This is an excellent desktop microphone at a very reasonable price. I bought mine to use with Dragon NaturallySpeaking 11, which I use a lot for business correspondence. Even though this microphone is not certified to use with that software, I found that it works even better than a headset I was using previously, which actually was certified.
The key reason I purchased this though was because I liked the idea of being able to dictate without having to wear anything on my head if I didn't have to. And this does the trick and does it well.
All I have to do is turn the microphone button on and it's ready to go and it causes very few recognition errors (i.e. the diction is good and clearly recognized.) As with any other microphone keep your distance to it short to get better signal to background noise ratio. It is noise canceling, but this always helps especially with speech recognition software.

I bought this microphone for my Mac mini because the integrated mic in the Philips webcam I have wasn't compatible with it. This one works great and it was a much cheaper solution than buying another (Mac compatible) webcam with integrated microphone.

I use dragon naturally speaking and this mike works great. I bought it because headset based mikes were making my head hurt but it works far better then any headset mike I have ever used...however, the room needs to be pretty quiet or ambient noise interferes.

I bought this to capture audio of my kid when he is talking in his sleep, or singing as he's about to fall asleep. It works well enough for that but the glowing mute button has to be covered up. Id use electrical tape but then the button would stick.
