Comments about Kodak P-20 Zoom Flash:
It was going to cost almost as much to repair my Kodak Easyshare camera as to buy this flash, and it is a nicer flash than the built in flash. Good price too.

Comments about Kodak P-20 Zoom Flash:
This flash is small, compact, but has bounce and enough power for 95% situations. It fits great with my P880 and is so light it goes everywhere. It integrates fully with the camera automation AND with the flip up flash so you can use flip up for direct and the P-20 for bounce. For me, this flash is the standard against which other dedicated and generic flash units are measured.

Comments about Kodak P-20 Zoom Flash:
I have own a P20 Flash since 2008 and use it on a P850 and a Z980. I use The Lithium 8X AA batteries they last a long time on a long photo shoot. In landscape mode the flash performs flawlessly the bounce flash works perfectly. but when the camera is used in a portrait mode it is a different story the flash mechanism is now moving to the side instead of up and down for bounce flash use. To make it work you need to use a left hand camera bracket a swivel flash mount and an off camera sync cord, but Kodak does not make an off camera sync cord for the P20 and I have not found another vendor's cord that has the same control contact pattern as the P20 Flash. The work around is just to use any vendor's flash cord so the flash will fire and use the flash in manual mode using the Percent of Normal flash desired and you will get the outstanding indoor or photo you desire.
If you are using the flash on a Z980 use the Lithium 8X AA batteries all the battery problems vanish I can leave the camera on for 6 hours take 600 photos and still have life in the batteries I replace the batteries when the camera recycle time gets excessive.
Another Z980 tip if you are shooting in hand held landscape mode at max telephoto when you try to full depress the shutter button to take you photo you camera is going to move downward a fifth to a quarter of a frame and you will not get the photo you composed. The work around is to enable the portrait photo button located on the lower right hand side of the camera to compose and take you photo your. When you are depressing the shutter button the pressure is from right to left and you can easily compensate for it and get the photo you composed the Z980 is one of a very few cameras with two shutter buttons and you might as well use it when it is to you photo composition advantage.
For any digital camera in general use a camera grip on it you have more stability and you will get better photos. Leave the grip on your camera when it is not in use and storing it in a camera bag. The access to the memory card and batteries compartment is very fragile on the Z980. Use the Lithium 8X AA Batteries and a 8 to 16 GB memory card in the camera so you don't have to change it often. The last thing you want to be doing is fumbling with the battery access in the field during a photo shoot because if you brake that access flap to the battery and memory card it is all over. Z980 are no longer in production our warranty so you can not economically repair them.

Comments about Kodak P-20 Zoom Flash:
This flash is expensive and hard to find in my country. But the price here is very attractive [...]. I use it with my Kodak Z980. It seems that Z980 only works with this flash, while all other flashes I tried won't disable the internal flash. The P20 works perfectly on Z980 with the full automatic mode. I didn't try the manual mode yet. The recycle time is a bit long (10s), if the flash fully discharges, i.e. with maximum output power. The flash has a bounce head, but only with one degree of freedom. That is, you can only move it up and down, but not right and left, which makes it not suitable for some of the 'interesting' flash diffusers out there, such as Gary Fong's Whaletail diffuser. That's a bit disappointing, but considering its price, it still earns a solid 4 stars.

Comments about Kodak P-20 Zoom Flash:
I use the P-20 Zoom Flash by Kodak with the Kodak Z980 camera. The past weekend I attended an outdoor party and shot in extremely dark conditions. The flash range was excellent and while some up close objects were a bit washed out, overall the lighting coverage was excellent, adopting to the chosen amount of zoom selected. The P-20 can be used in either the fully automatic mode (which I did) or in manual mode. I did not shoot enough to make a complete determination on batter life, but it appears to be quite good. This flash will extend the range of the built in flash on the camera. Color appear accurate and detail is retained in all photos. About the only downside was that recycling time could be better.

Comments about Kodak P-20 Zoom Flash:
I love this great little flash. It's nice having a flash that has more light output than just the one on my camera. I would highly recommend it. It's light, practical and a great addition to my photo equipment.

This flash works great. When used with a telephoto lens the flash is less effective but still helps alot. I would reccomend this flash to anyone.
