Photoflex Speed Ring for SP Systems
The Photoflex Series 900 Speed Ring for SP Systems Excalibur, SP90, 120, 920, 147 allows mounting of a Photoflex or any other brand of rectangular or octagonal softbox to the front of these flash heads. It adjusts with its 4 screws to mount to the front of flash heads of up to 4.75" in diameter.
OctoDome connectors are made from heat resistant cast aluminum for durability. They allow full rotation of any shaped softbox while it is mounted to your flash head.

This speed ring does just what it's supposed to do. Well constructed. The thumb screws could be stronger with bigger knobs for tightening but they work. I had to replace the screws on an older one as they bent. It's nice to be able to get accessories for my tired old Excalibur lights.

It cannot support the weight of a large softbox, the screws are too short thus the softbox is not really secured to the light. Also the rubber foot gets damaged very quickly.

I tried this with a large softbox on a SP Stduio Systems Excaliber light. The rubber feet don't provide a secure footing for the weight of the softbox, and it tended to slide off. After only a few weeks of use, the brass screws punctured the rubber feet, meaning it will damage the light. This may work for smaller, lighter softboxes, but not for the large heavy ones.
