LED's (Light Emitting Diodes) are the next great wave in studio lighting. They are bright, lightweight, cool-running and economical because they draw very little electricity and the diodes last a very long time.
This is the MK SparkleLite Mini-Lite 350-2 Dual LED Light. It produces no infrared or ultraviolet light and does not heat up the subject. (Conversely, fiber optic tungsten lights consume 150-250 watts and can produce a significant amount of heat).
Each of its 2 gooseneck illuminators produce approximately 40 lumens of 5800° Kelvin light that is collimated into an intense cone of light. Goosenecks can be spaced 4-6" from the subject with plenty of even illumination. The Brite Lite base has 2 built-in, rotating dimmer knobs.
