Comments about Sigma 28-70mm f/2.8-4 Compact High Speed Zoom AF Lens for Pentax:
I think the color is great and images are sharp. Does a great job to capture that moment quickly. Shadows are less dark in outside shots

Comments about Sigma 28-70mm f/2.8-4 Compact High Speed Zoom AF Lens for Pentax:
I am a beginner DSLR user and bought this lens a year after my camera to bridge the gap between my Tamron 70-300 and my 18-55 Pentax kit lens. I see much better pictures compared to my 18-55. The f2.8 aperture is good in low light in my opinion. I would recommend this lens for anyone wanting the lowest price lens without poor quality. The only thing that may not be a plus is the bayonet mount is plastic. It is however sturdy.

Comments about Sigma 28-70mm f/2.8-4 Compact High Speed Zoom AF Lens for Pentax:
I got this lens as a general purpose & walkaround lens for a second body. It's very well suited to that purpose - lightweight, compact and with a useful focal range. I've used it for everything from landscapes to portraits.
It's generally a pretty sharp lens, especially when you consider the price. Personally, I like it better than the Pentax 18-55 kit lens.
The lens hood is unusual and a bit of a mixed bag. The front element of the lens moves out when zooming to the wide end of the range, but the hood doesn't move with it. This is nice, because you get more hood coverage at longer focal lengths. But it can be difficult to attach & remove the hood, and it's practically useless at the wide end.
Also, the red dot on the lens that you use to align it to the body is very hard to see. Dark red on black, whose idea was that?
Comments about Sigma 28-70mm f/2.8-4 Compact High Speed Zoom AF Lens for Pentax:
I bought this lens to go with my Pentax K10D- to compliment the original Pentax 18-55mm lens that came with the camera. This lens works perfectly for portraits- indoor and out. The autofocus is fast and effective, and the images are comparable to high-end lenses.I had originally purchased a $379 Tamron 28-75mm F/2.8 lens- but it had particles inside the lens which effected all photos taken with it. I returned it and bought this lens instead, and I'm glad I did. It's not only lighter in weight, but the images are just as crisp and clear as with the expensive lens. So WHO says more expensive = better quality photos? You couldn't prove it by me. As both the inexpensive Pentax lens that came with my camera, and this Sigma lens- offer high-end quality images at a fraction of the price.
