The FLECTOR 8 is an eight inch diameter transparent discs made from a 0.1" thick modified Acrylic. Modified Acrylic is substantially stronger than regular Acrylic and much harder to break. The disc serves two functions.
The first is to reflect the sound produced by the performer back to the musician, thus allowing them to hear themselves better. The second is appreciated by anyone sitting in front a brass section in an ensemble situation. In this instance, the FLECTOR 8 diffuses the narrow high energy acoustical beam associated with brass instruments, making life somewhat more bearable for anyone directly in the "line of fire".
The disc has the added benefit of reducing the potential for feedback in a live situation by deflecting any front-monitor sound away from the back of the microphone. Installation is simple by threading an addition hole in the disc onto a microphone stand before securing the mic clip.
