The Marshall V-R70DP is a very sophisticated digital LCD monitor designed for professional video monitoring like video assist in production video applications. At 7 inch diagonal, the monitor is large enough to clearly show the detail and composition a camera person requires. It is also small enough to be mounted on all but the very tiniest of video cameras. The unit has a couple ways of inputting power including a Sony-type V-mount battery bracket and a universal-type 4-pin XLR DC input. This monitor boasts an effective analog-to-digital conversion process as well as a 5-line comb filter plus exacting color space conversion.

• Analog to Digital Conversion: The V-R70DP is a digital monitor with analog inputs. Analog signals are digitized using an advanced 10 bit process with 4x over sampling and adaptive 5 line comb filter plus exacting color space conversion. Video is scaled to fit on screen in the highest resolution using a state of the art LSI that incorporates 4 x 4 pixel interpolation with precision Gamma correction to product the best images available.

• Camera Mount and Video Assist: The V-R70DP was designed as a high quality video monitor that could be used on top a video camera to provide an easy to see readout of what the camera is seeing. Production crews often use the ubiquitous Sony-type V-mount batteries and this monitor can be powered in this way. The monitor also has a 4-pin XLR DC input that will input DC power from video-standard AC adapters. Attaching this monitor to any professional camera is easy since the monitor weighs only about 2 pounds. It accepts most standard brackets with a 1/4-20 mount on the monitor's underside.

• Studio Applications: Just because a color LCD monitor is small does not preclude its ability to work in high-end professional situations. The V-R70DP can be used in a studio setting just like heavy older CRT models. A 5-pin connector allows the director to connect the monitor to the tally-light system in a multi-camera shoot.

• World Wide Compatibility: The V-R70DP can be used virtually anywhere in the world because it can display both NTSC and PAL system video. The unit has an automatic system recognition feature so the user doesn't have to search menu pages to allow for PAL video display.
