While installing an RFID Pass Key system for a local swimming pool I used the D-Link DUB-H7 at the end of a 35 foot USB 2.0 "A" to "B" cable to remote locate the Keyboard, mouse, web-cam, Business card scanner, and Pass Key Reader to the front desk for use by the Lifeguard while leaving the computer physically located in a locked room.
If they only had USB Monitors I could have eliminated the DVI cable I needed for the Monitor as well and still had a USB Port to spare.
Great piece of gear. I don't like Alien Space Invader package designs that are round, oval or "L" shaped for plugging in my numerous USB devices. Cables going in from the top and coming out from the back etc.
This baby keeps everything in a nice neat row so that it's easier to manage your cable layout.

I have a sandisk card reader that I bought here. Every time I try to pull something from a card, I loose connection. I've never had an issue with D-link before, but this one is junk. After an internet search, I discovered I'm not the only one. Since I'm on a mac, I get the improper eject warning too, what a pain.

It has a robust power supply which powers hi drain items like USB laptop hard drives and iPad's with ease. Fast and reliable. Nice long cords. Excellent value.
I did have a minor glitch after installing it, where my PC was rebooting on shutdown. I simply plugged the hub into another USB slot and the problem was solved.

I bought this product because I ran out of USB ports on my iMac (two ports were dedicated to external drives, one for a scanner, and the other needed to be shared for everything else) Now I can keep a card reader, iPhone cord, and whatever else I need to use plugged in and not have to unplug something else to use it. The transfer speed is still very good and I havent noticed any problems with it so far

With only 3 USB ports on my laptop I really need a hub with several ports. So far this one is doing the task. I realy like it's compact size and low profile. Good and convenient addition to my laptop.

I use this with my 15in Macbook Pro and it is exactly what I needed. Everything I plug into this hub works at an efficient speed. I have yet to see any lag what so ever. Right now I have a cooling fan, a Wacom tablet, a card reader, and three external hard drives plugged in and everything works just how I needed and now my desk is clear of wires.
