I do a bit of outdoor photography and this little gem lets me protect my gear from wind and the elements. I can even change lenses in a dusty/windy environment with a little more comfort.
I use it for any outdoor occasion, and even use it as a simple flat table (not popped up as a tent).
Once you get the "twist" down to collapse the item, this is a must have for so many different uses.
