The Proco CBT-1A is a custom-designed impedance matching transformer, built for use in Direct Box construction. The transformer exhibits characteristics optimized for use with high-impedance electric guitars and basses, or other unbalanced sources such as keyboards.
The CBT-1A features custom winding techniques, high-permeability (50% Nickel) core lamination for full frequency response. The source impedance of the transformer is similar to that of a low-impedance microphone, ensuring a signal well-matched with the input of the destination mixing board, with a resulting clean transient response with low distortion, including lower-register, high input level signals.
