Korg SP-250 - 88-Key Portable Digital Piano
The Korg SP-250 is a lightweight, moderately priced portable digital piano, offering a selection of 30 sampled preset sounds, including keyboards, strings and choirs, enhanced by a group of built-in reverb and chorusing processors. A keyboard stand is included.
The SP-250 is equipped with 88 weighted hammer-action keys and 3 stages of selectable touch response, a pair of 4" dual-cone speakers, and 22 Watts of stereo amplification. This instrument is particularly well-suited for use as a club date and smaller congregation house of worship performance solution.

Plays great.
The piano and organ sounds range from great to so-so.
The Harpsichord and clavichord are horrible.
The strings sound OK, but are too slow to be useful.
The Choir...does anyone use this ever? (Aside from Rush's Hold Your Fire) Anyway, it's not completely awful.
The Vibraphone is surprisingly cool and useful.
The built-in speakers are very good, and capable of quite a lot of moderate low-end, and decent volume. Through an amp, it is much better of course.

I have a music degree and wanted a digital piano to write music and that would work well in an upstairs apartment that also included all 88 keys and weighted keys. This instrument provided that and is one of the best that I've found for the money. It sounds nice (although a little electronic). It is a little heavy, but not unmanageable. [...]. We bought this for the kids to practice on....the sound is great and from another room you would never know it's a digital piano. Kids have been fun with "demo mode" where the piano plays a number of pre-recorded classical music. no complaints, so far.

...this is the best portable digital piano I've ever acquired. The string effect was just marvelous. Together with the piano sound, I felt like a one-man band playing- with the marvelous,LOW PITCH string sound as the second voice. It blows my Casio 575 digital piano in sound quality. The only drawback was it's simplicity and non-programmable feature. It's a very straightforward piano unlike my Casio which has lots of programmable features. But for the price, I couldn't complain. I called Korg if they have a more sophisticated digital piano planned for the future since they had discontinued the SP-500 which is what I wished I had instead. Nevertheless, KORG rocks!!!
