Comments about JBL L880 Studio L Series 4-Way Dual 6" Floorstanding Speaker - Black:
I have these black beauties in a combo home theatre and audiophile music system. Using a Sony 65 inch big screen and a Yamaha high end integrated to power these with high end Sony SACD and Sony Blue Ray players produced a rich organic sound I have not heard with my ATC SCM 20 SL's. I immediately went through a dozen CD's and movies the next couple days after receiving these. West Coast sound never sounded this real yet relaxed. My original JBL L 300's monitors back in the 70's couldn't hold a candle to these insanely priced rockers. Adios to my audiophile nervousa and howdy to these resident references. These will not be leaving the family anytime soon. Best value of any speaker I have owned, and I've done the Brit monitor flavor of the month, for too long. No more! I am supremely happy to enjoy these.

Comments about JBL L880 Studio L Series 4-Way Dual 6" Floorstanding Speaker - Black:
The JBL L880 speakers are my new front speakers on an Onkyo 7.1 system. The added depth and new clarity to different musical instruments is exponential. These speakers are(pleasantly) larger than I expected but not bulky. If you appreciate dynamic power in home theater or cd ,MP3, etc listening, these speakers deliver. Low volumes are a waist of their potential.

Comments about JBL L880 Studio L Series 4-Way Dual 6" Floorstanding Speaker - Black:
A much needed replacement! Sound is clear, bass is very good for a tower, absolutely no complaints. I have always found JBL speakers very nice and at a resonable price.
Would highly recommend!

Comments about JBL L880 Studio L Series 4-Way Dual 6" Floorstanding Speaker - Black:
Once again BH comes through with [...] a wonderful product! The Speakers sound fantastic. You almost don't even need a sub with these. Bass is great, high are great, and mids are...well great! Wonderful all round speaker. Sounds better to my ears than high priced Klipsch line, or any Polk audio speakers I've heard. The L880's go perfect with JBL LC2 center channel as well as the JBL Sub10. Wonderful setup!

Comments about JBL L880 Studio L Series 4-Way Dual 6" Floorstanding Speaker - Black:
I've had these for two months now and can say I am very happy with their performance. I use them in my home theater setup for L and R front. I now hear things that I was missing before, because of the great dynamic range. The bass these things put out is amazing. I also use them for listening to music, especially jazz, and they provide a tight crisp sound that is life like. I strongly recomend the L880s.
Comments about JBL L880 Studio L Series 4-Way Dual 6" Floorstanding Speaker - Black:
The output from these JBL's is so lively and clear, that shutting my eyes I can imagine Nora Jones singing from across my living-room. The L880's perform flawlessly, from deep bass all the way to the super high frequencies. Paired to a Marantz PM7001, the bass output is tight, deep, and can almost compete with JBL's own L8400 subwoofer, which I also own. In watching movies, I could hear background sounds and details which were simply amiss in other lesser speaker systems. The speaker terminal posts are made of solid metal and plated in gold - very nice! The L880's are simply amazing to listen to, and I can fully recommend them to anyone.
Expertise: Enthusiast
Problems Encountered: Nothing really, except perhaps the L880's feet could've been made of higher quality plastic, maybe even metal. But that's just me.
Previous Equivalent Item Owned: Yamaha receiver, Bose bookshelf speakers
Items I Recommend: Marantz PM7001 amplifier, Monster Cable THX 1000 speaker wire
