The JBL LC1 is the Center Speaker component for your Studio L speaker system. Certainly you could add this fabulous center to any multichannel configuration, but you'll get the best results by matching all the speakers in your system. Like musical instruments, speakers have timbre, they have character, and tend to color sound in a manner unique to their manufacture. Studio L speaker systems create the perfect environment for listening to SACDs.
In a home theater system, the center channel is typically mounted directly above or below the video display, or even behind a projection screen if it is constructed to not alter the sound going through it. A quality center speaker is critical to fully enjoying DVDs since most of the spoken words, along with some music and effects are mixed to the center channel. The LC1 boasts a straight-line signal path network with bypass capacitors to ensure the cleanest possible center channel signal, resulting in crisp and distinct movie dialogue.
This center speaker is Black Ash.

Comments about JBL LC1 Studio L Series 3-Way Dual 5-1/4" Center Speaker - Black:
I wanted to purchase a quality center speaker to go with my JBL ES100 fronts.
The LC1 handles voice extremely well, and is without a doubt the best center channel unit I have heard.
Quality speakers are usually heavy, and this does not disappoint at 10.5 Kgs!

Comments about JBL LC1 Studio L Series 3-Way Dual 5-1/4" Center Speaker - Black:
I've needed a center channel speaker for several years now. I used my TV as the center channel, but it was unsatisfactory. Todays movies make the dialogue so faint that you have to turn up the volume to excruciatingly loud levels.
This JBL LC1 was the last piece to make my system come alive. The sound quality is marvelous. Voices are reproduced in a natural full-timbre. This speaker balances out my surround system.
The another nice thing is that it fits in my TV stand right below the TV.
The speaker unit itself is heavy, well constructed and of high quality. I am very satisfied with this purchase.
