I use this sub daily along with a second sub set at a different frequency range. The JBL is handling the deepest bass at the higher volume level (between the two subs). I power it with an Onkyo receiver which allows redirecting more low frequencies from main and surround speakers to the sub (called double bass in Onkyo's terms). The L8 handles all requests cleanly with room to spare. Not to mention, it's purdy.
