I too purchased this cable for the Black Magic's Design Intensity Pro as I was unsure it came with the adapter (it does). I am still happy I got this cable as it removes an extra connector. I was expecting a standard consumer RCA cable, like the Intensity's adapter, but this cable seems higher quality.

I use these cables to get S-Video in and out of Black Magic Design Intensity pro. The setup uses two of the component in/out connectors on either end with a software switch in the Intensity control panel to make it work that way.

They work on the devices their made for. They didn't work going from S-video to the component inputs on a TV (at least not for me) but that's not what I bought them for. I bought them for my capture card that required them..
