Great for hiking. I travel light so the small size delivers for me. My K10D with 16-50mm is my landscape photo choice. Fit well. All compartments convenient to use. Plenty of room for battery, filters, sd cards, etc.

Comments about Tamrac 5546 Adventure 6 Backpack (Red):
I took this backpack with an SLR and two lenses through half of Africa over a 7 month period. It stood up to some of the worst conditions imaginable from the Saharan desert to central African jungles to Ethiopian mountains. It keeps dust out extremely well and doesn't "advertise" you are carrying photo gear as most people assumed it was a regular backpack. If it could survive that trip it can pretty much survive anything.

It is a wonderful pack for travel and hiking. Very comfortable and sturdy. Fits most equipment. Not enough room for my Canon 5D with my 70-200mm lens. You just need to decide what is important to bring along. Otherwise, no complaints. I like mine so much that I bought one as a gift for a friend.

I used this camera bag all throughout Italy when I went with my family and it was perfect! My camera was always a zipper away! I was able to use the bag as a carry-on and sat perfectly by my feet the whole way over and back. The top compartment was perfect for snacks and some souvioners! This bag is worth the money!!!

Comments about Tamrac 5546 Adventure 6 Backpack (Red):
This is a great backpack to carry on the plane or train. It's small enough to fit under the seat or above your head, and with the upper compartment and the side nets for water bottles, it makes a compact carry-on. The lower compartment fits my D60 w/ lens, my zoom, and flash with little room to spare. There is room for an extra battery and spare memory cards. Be careful to support the bottom when you unzip the camera bag or it can flip open on you quickly. The straps are well padded and comfortable and easy to adjust. It was well worth the price for this well constructed little backpack.

This is a great bag if you don't have a lot. I was fine with it with my D80 and 18-135mm kit and filters. But after a year of use, I added 70-300 VR and SB-600 Flash, there's no room for it.
Great for day hikes where you know you won't need to bring all the gadgets you have.

I love this pack. It is compact, yet roomy enough to hold my Nikon D80 with 18mm - 135mm lens, plus filters, batteries, memory cards, etc. in lower portion and in the top I can put my tripod ballhead, snacks and a light jacket. Great for field trips or travel.
