bought two of the small nickle batts to use with my Lowell id light. The NMH 54 last about 57 mins with my Lowell idlight and 55w bulb blasting full on! Not bad! With the dslr rig you rarely ( at least I don't) need the bulb at full on all the time.
I carry two just in case. Needless the system is not good if the junky charger is junk! Total junk. Broke after the third charge and one was the test above.
Had to carry my lead dino with me for a small shoot and was not happy! If you have to and/or need this system buy two chargers or look elsewhere… I kind of wish I had read this before I bought so here I am trying to play it forward I guess.

This is a review for the NMH-ATM charger for the Bescor Nickel Metal Hydride 12V 4.5amp Battery Pack. The charger is very small and easy to use, with a green light indicating safe charging and a red light indicating that the battery is full. Since the battery requires about a 14 hour charge, and I can't always monitor something for an extended period of time, these lights are very helpful. Other battery chargers I have owned in the pats did not posses these lights which would often lead to overcharging/loss of quality for the battery. So far I have used the battery three times for filming skateboarding, and the battery has not run out of power even after hours of use. It is without a doubt the best charger I have had in the past five years.
Many people might consider 14 hours a long time to charge a battery, however it is not so bad when extended use of the battery is the outcome.
