Just got one as a replacement for my KLK-35. On the plus side: The weight is terrific, and 80 minutes on a charge will get me all the way through a wedding reception, I am sure. Plus, regular AAs can be used in a pinch. All improvements over the KLK-35. On the minus:I don't know why they would use 5600K LEDs. I rarely transition from outdoors with a camera light but more often go from well lit to poorly lit areas indoors. So unless I replace the LEDs with 3200K I will have to white balance again whenever I turn it on. Also the beam is a little too tight. At 5' I had to zoom in 50% to make the edges of the circle disappear. I swapped the clear glass element on the LED-10 for the frosted one from the KLK-35 and it is much much better. It puts out a good amount of nice even light. Nothing looks blown out enough to make me adjust the gain.Even if I have to modify it, it was worth the money.

I would have used this light as a supplemental light source for a mini-DV. So the idea of a lightweight, low cost, rechargeable, long lasting light made some sense. Well that's where the good idea ended. As I removed it from the package to put the batteries in to charge it fell apart. Also, the hotshoe clamp could easily be stripped in an attempt to secure it to a camera or bracket.
The sweetness of low price is often overshadowed by the bitterness of poor quality.

I used this light for inside low light situations.
It produces blue light that looks awful. I had to use it for one shoot and had to color correct all of the shots.
The battery cover broke shortly after.

Comments about Bescor LED-10 10-watt LED On Camera Light:
Unfortunately, the build quality on the LED-10 seems to be pretty poor - the first that I received fell apart upon opening the package and 3 of the 5 LEDs were non-functional. After returning it for an exchange, the second started coming apart when I removed the battery cover. I ended up taping it together so it would stay in one piece while being careful not to cover the vents for airflow. After charging, within 25 minutes one of the 5 LEDs in the second unit failed.
The color temperature of the light output leaves a lot to be desired, but that's often the case for LEDs.
The beam on this is VERY tight, so much that it's pretty much only useful as a spot-light.
I occasionally still use it with some colored gels for artistic low-light photography, but I won't even bother with video.

Comments about Bescor LED-10 10-watt LED On Camera Light:
The fact that it is daylight balanced makes it useless. It's not powerful enough to help in any outdoor locations. It is also a spot (not flood). 2 of the LEDS burned out with in a few months.

This light works best whenever it is extremely dark in a room. In certain light conditions the LED makes the video really violet/blue in color even after white balancing.

We use this light with our DVC20P and it works very well out in the woods and it is very light weight.

Distorts the color creates a horrible gray type light that is very detrccting from the video
I would not recommend this light to anyone, short of cheap scary thrill movie maker
Comments about Bescor LED-10 10-watt LED On Camera Light:
I agree with the others, the light is worth the money. To help correctthe spot light effect, and distance adjust with zoom............buy 2, fastentogether giving twice the width of the beam to incircle two heads, bride & groom. There are two phillip screws holding the light shoe. Detach and find a black strip of metal or plastic 3 inches long, reattach both without the shoes to strip, and attach one shoe in the center. Drill one hole for each light screw, aim at wall, adjust for beam with, then mark for2nd screw placement............. WALLA!!!!! Hey, if groom is taller, youcan still adjust each light for height.
Problems Encountered: I read somewhere the battery would last 48 hours. Must have meant48 minutes. Note the voltage is not regulated, therefore the light dimsas the battery discharges. Like the idea that you can use other batteriesas a backup.
Comments about Bescor LED-10 10-watt LED On Camera Light:
I have to agree with the other review, it's is more of aspot light and due to the way leds work most diffusers stilldon't help. Leds put their light directionally IE straightforward with little side spread. Also due to the 5600k colour temmp, while it would work as agood fill in day light it is a pain to use indoors or atnight all in all it is cheap and does work as a spot light.
