unfortunately not hd, but this camera rocks! incredible 500x zoom, macro mode good too! buying this camera actually saves me money instead of renting it. and its mine!!!!! pal format are rare as the pope's leavings in canada, i might even rent it.

I bought the camera for weddings.I was expecting too much from it but for the money I spent there's nothing else to choose.I got no technical issues during the events.I stop to use it after few events because is very bad in low light and the shape of the camera is totally weird.You cannot mount it on the shoulders because is too small for this purpose but in the same time is too big to handle it.I have no idea what the Panasonic's designers were thinking when they create this model.And is not the only one.

A useful camera if you are going to shoot in highly luminated areas like outside during the day. If there is not a lot of light the colors starts to disapear, everything tends to go b/w and the image will have a lot of noise.
Night shot, or 0 lux is in fact the lcd turned for self-portrait and is white, kind of a side light, f:1.6, shutter 1/6, gain 18 dB.
I use 4 in my OB van for shooting and live and my customers are happy with the final product.

I got 2 of these for my brother who lives overseas.He used to rent the same model for his work so he wanted the same ones.He praises them a lot despite the problems with the first one.It started giving him the dreaded "Head cleaning required" during the recording after a month and it wouldnt play the tapes in playback.[...]That was the only sour thing we got from the camera.Hopefully he doesnt have any more serious issues with both of them.So far so good.
