Apple has discontinued distribution of the original power cord. IT'S A BLESSING to have found one that works FLAWLESSLY! This product is a MUST HAVE for those who still only have the original...eventually, IT WILL BREAK AND YOU WILL BE SCRAMBLING TO FIND A NEW ONE!

My old Apple AC adaptor gave up the ghost and I didn't feel like paying $90 for a new one. But it brought my old Powerbook G4 15" (used for running legacy software) back to life and the price was right, so I like it so long as it continues to work. The green/amber charging indicator isn't on this adaptor, but I'd say that's a small price to pay for the [$] price difference.

my original power adapter from apple exploded...
this is a very reasonable replacement option.
it's smaller, lighter and has a longer cord.
The only thing missing is the light status indicator (green/orange) where you plug it to your mac.
