The Final Draft AV 2.5 Screenwriting Software from Final Draft is a screenwriting suite designed specifically for screenwriters who work on commercials and corporate training videos. The software allows you to work in a two-column workflow, featuring a dedicated channel for video and another for audio. Since it is designed for screenwriters, Final Draft AV will automatically keep these columns aligned correctly when text is added or deleted from either one. This is an excellent tool for anyone writing scripts that require separate audio and video columns.

Comments about Final Draft AV 2.5 Screenwriting Software - Mac/Win:
This program has some appealing capabilities, but its imperfections drag it down.
A few examples:
As many have noted, its performance is very sluggish, even on a high-end workstation. Sometimes, you find yourself waiting for the cursor to come back when you click on a point in the text.
The save button is erratic, greyed out when it should be active and vice-versa. Occasionally, one resorts to the file menu for saving, since the button is inactive. This is not nice.
It apparently has no facility for dealing with scene length, as though one needn't worry about how long individual scenes and the whole work will take. That won't make any friends in the television business. Equally, it cannot count words, from which one could estimate time required, at least for the dialogue.
Double-clicking an existing project file will start the program...but it will NOT load that project. Instead, it begins a blank project, and the user must close that and then select and open the existing one. Is this considered acceptable? Not in our shop, it isn't.
There is no facility for exporting the audio/dialogue script text, making it awkward to generate the file needed for closed captioning. On some networks, that is mandatory, not optional.
Save your money. CELTX or Office Word 2007 will probably do just as well.
