The Wireless-G PCI Adapter for Desktop Computers from Linksys is a PCI expansion card that adds 802.11g wireless networking capabilities to your computer. When used with other 802.11g equipment the card can transfer data at speeds up to 54 Mbps. It is also fully backwards compatible with older 802.11b hardware, although communications will only be at 11 Mbps when transferring data via 802.11b. This adapter is a convenient way to add wireless networking capability to your desktop PC.

Had an older HP and wanted to give it an update. That included a change to wireless(802.11 G.) Chose this one because it had fewer bad reviews than most and looked to be entirely compatable with the inner workings of my machine (size & interconnects.) It came, I installed HD/SW and it worked beautifully and the machine now provides wireless internet.

Linksys/Cisco is the best. This works great. Even tho I did and sliced the metal, don't buy to add to a low profile port unless experienced. Buy for a normal size port and its EASY and PERFECT !!

I bought this to use as a WiFi Adapter card for a home build WAP. Card was recogonized and works great - no kernal panics, crashes, etc. Only cavet is slightly dimished range.
