Comments about Pelican 1553 O-Ring:
Owning a quite old Pelican case (or pelicase) implies renewing some parts.
The foams, and the seals.
A pelicase is rated IP68, that means it is water resistant and can fall into water (but not more than 1 meter (yes, european review, so european metrics ;) ) deep !).
But with years, the O Ring seal of the lid dries out, crackles, and water can find his way to the inside of the case !!!
So spare parts are available (thanks Pelican, thanks B&H !).
Removing the old seal with a knife is quite easy. Putting the new one in place by hand too, but for the first uses, becareful, as the new seal can "fall" as it will not "take his place" before a few day of use.
Now you are ready for adventures with a new perfectly sealed case !
