I checked it in a dark room after letting my eyes adjust by putting a big, bright flashlight inside, zipping it up, and putting my arms in and then shining the light all around at every little spot. It is possible to get some minor light leaks where the sleeves go over your arms. I would advise putting a fat rubber band around the sleeve to help avoid this, or perhaps have a black sweater on and after putting your arms in, have someone else pull your sweater sleeves over the sleeves on this changing room.

Also, if I put the flashlight right up near the zipper area, even though there are two zippers, I can see a little bit of light coming through in places. The zipper area doesn't seem sealed enough. I don't know if this would let enough light in to seriously fog the film. But it might be advisable to put something additional over the zipper area like some duct tape, an opaque cloth, or something else.

Also, it is a bit difficult to expand and collapse it without feeling like you are going to rip something loose. I am worried that after expanding and collapsing it a number of times, light leaks will appear from the stress.

If the design had a flat bottom and if the arms were not placed so high up it would be a lot better.
Need for a flatter bottom: this contraption rocks back and forth because the bottom is curved. That does not help when a person is trying to keep things in their place.
High Arm Holes: sitting at a normal table with normal chairs makes the arm hole position awkwardly high. A person will definitely need a stool that sits up higher than a typical chair.
I would barely recommend this product because it is better than having to create a completely dark room and it is slightly better than a changing bag that does not have any structure to it whatsoever.

Great film changing tent. Folds down easy, great for traviling. Has plenty of spce to load multiple 4x5 film holders.

large format photography.

my old photoflex changing room is now somewhere in Europe, so i decided to buy new one. as the one which i've bought two years ago was really good. i used it during my trip without any problem. this new version is pretty cheap and poor. used springs are too soft. also fabric for inside bag looks worse than in earlier version.

works fine to charge magazines to my ARRI III. Size is ideal and low cost than other brands.

* I recently started doing large format film photography. As well as B&W film photography for school. This comes in handy especially for the large format. If it wasnt for the portability and its compact size I would have to make a trip to school every four shots. With the changing room all I need to do is pop it up on my trunk and change the used film into a light tight box then reload my film holders and carry on shooting.
* Good things are its portability, great price for the amount of use it gets.
* I would like to see an extra liner around the outside. This way if the outside tears on a the surface then I dont have to worry about it compromising the tent being light tight. Also I have seen tents that have this same size however the arms are on the sides giving more space to work in the middle.

I normally use this product for my photography class. I actually love the convinence of this product . I also the the portability of it, it is easy to carry around. It could have a little more room.

The main usage Is to change 4x5 sheet film when a darkroom is not accessible. It's big enough to get the job done I have changed up to 8 negative carriers at once with two large (50-100 sheet size) sheet boxes. You can only use it you about ten minutes at a time (well atleast me) because it is no ventilated and my hands get very moist.

Two stars for a great concept. I am not aware of similar pop-up bag on the market!First of all, the bag comes with a big warning - "Not tested to be light proof". Make sure to test your bag with a piece of photo paper as instructed before you ruin a roll of film. Secondly, the original bag that I received and the replacement were both faulty. The inside bag seems were torn apart in both instances (bottom right corner where zippers are). Considering the pop-up design and pressure this puts on the fabric, this does not look like a bag I want to trust with my films! This could be just a bad batch, but also a lousy QC by Photoflex! Pros: There is room to move your hands.
Cons: You have to hold your arms up which makes it rather inconvenient to use. The double lined changing bags are better.

Best I've seen for loading films holders. With the size and pop-up feature, loading my developing tank is also a breeze. Everything is easily layed-out and kept in order while working.

Great for loading multiple film backs at the same time, and the extra space compared to a changing bag helps to avoid film scratches. Silver coloring helps to keep it cool when used in sunlight. It's just a bit too large to fit in a camera bag conveniently. Care should be taken to keep dust and grit out, since its difficult to get rid of once it's in there.
Wonderfully quick to set up and pack up!

This changing tent is great, the only issue I have is with its design. I would personally prefer for the sleeves to be on the ends as opposed to the sides to allow for a wider work space as opposed to a longer one. This is only a small thing though

This product is a "must" for large-format photographers in particular, for loading film holders in the field and for loading a developing tank afterwards.
This is one of the few "changing bags" on the market which allows for a roomy vertical space in which to work as well as horizontal. If all you need is a place to unload a 35mm casette you can find a smaller, cheaper alternative than this, but if you need a spacious place to work this is it.

I use this Photoflex Film Changing Room to load up five Jobo's film reels with Kodak Professional E100G, E100VS or E100GX slide films at a time.
It's large and comfortable enough for me to do five reel of films at once then load up the drum, lock on the lid while the scissor, empty film cartridges and opener tool in the there. This product is cost effective and exceptional.

I purchased this item to take on a long road trip. There wasn't much room left inside my 2005 VW Gti after I had packed my large format equipment but the Photoflex could be folded into a neat flat package. Sure there are better bags and tents out there; but not at this price. Great value for the money. Highly recommended for guys like me who work on a budget of money and space. I also think it is well constructed. Loading 4x5 film holders is a cinch. Light as a feather
