I've had mine for years (decades?). I've received 100's of "what is that on top of your camera?" questions during that time. When explained I've doubtlessly caused dozens of folks to buy one. I consider bubble levels as a "don't leave home without it" item. Obviously, they are really only for use when the camera is setup (ie tripod etc) and you can view/adjust the camera's level without having to look thru the viewfinder.
I don't know who made mine but I assume these are all OEM'd from elsewhere anyways. I've never broken one although I could see that happening...or breaking off the hot shoe mount....be careful when its mounted. These have 2 "feet" and can be mounted horizontally or vertically (as shown above). I mount mine as shown above, ie one level above the other vertically. Theoretically you should be able to mount it such that you are looking thru one of the "feet"...but that's too fuzzy. I normally use it for left/right tilt in either landscape (lower level)or portrait mode (upper level). For taking panoramic or architectural shots where you want the lens axis to be horizontal, change the mounting using the other "foot" so that level is now horizontal, ie one level in front of the other.
I keep mine protected in an old 35mm film canister (you remember those!!!) that I mark with bold, red stripes using a Sharpie permanent marker should I ever drop it in the field.
Upon 1st getting the level, mount it and level the camera. Then reverse the mounting, ie left to right, and ensure that its still level. If not, return. You could also get a "full" level, ie 10-24", leveled and mount the bubble level on it, reverse it, to ensure its properly constructed.
Indispensable!!!

A good value for the price all things considered.
The plastic 'tracks' that hold the level in the hotshoe can be broken with even a little force; luckily there are 2 of them for 2 different orientations, so breaking one track does not necessarily render the product useless.
The level is not completely clear (as pictured) on both sides of the level; the rear side has the other 'track' I referred to which means you can't see the level if you turn it that way.
That said, it's very helpful to be able to turn a camera into portrait orientation and be able to very quickly check whether the camera is level, since a tripod-based level would be no help at that point.
This item is very small and very light, and when oriented correctly is very clear to see. Overall it's a great buy for the usefulness/price consideration, but the somewhat fragile nature of the plastic tracks implies a craftsmanship that is not as precise as you would expect for professional photo gear OR anything that is supposed to accurately judge horizontal/vertical orientation.

Comments about Jobu Design 2 Axis Flash Hot Shoe Bubble Level:
Great accessory for the landscape photographer. Much easier than navigating my D7000 menus for the single axis level. I is small, and might be easy to loose.

Compared to all the other levels this thing was cheap and does the trick! Every landscape and architectural photographer should have one of these because I know my 60D only has single axis digital leveling.

Comments about Jobu Design 2 Axis Flash Hot Shoe Bubble Level:
slipped right on hot shoe. it needs to taken off to switch between vertical or horizontal positions. I would have liked to see a bigger bubble. there also was a mold mark in the way of reading the bubble.otherwise it does what it is suppose to do.

Comments about Jobu Design 2 Axis Flash Hot Shoe Bubble Level:
Suffering from consistantly shooting tilted images this simple and inexpensive solution has allowed me to almost completely eliminate my problem. My primary field use is wildlife photography. When I use my bubble level with my gimbal mounted 400mm lens I can be sure that each shot will have the horizon exactly level.

For the price this level works just fine. I don't see the need to spend $30.00 or more for a level. Get this one.

Works fine with camera in landscape orientation. If you work in portrait orientation you should get a 3-axis one.

With all the accessories and supports one can attach to cameras, it's easy for the level to be off, even if you've used your fluid head's built in level. Using this in your hotshoe takes out the guesswork. Great product!

I find this little leveler very useful especially with wide angles. The only thing I would do is put a small square of duct tape on the bottom or else it fall off all the time.

Comments about Jobu Design 2 Axis Flash Hot Shoe Bubble Level:
It is small and compact yet clear enough to see the movement of the bubble between the two black lines especially in dimly lit areas. I find it very easy to store when not in use and fits easily on my hot shoe. This is great especially for the price. I definitely would recommend this to a friend.

Comments about Jobu Design 2 Axis Flash Hot Shoe Bubble Level:
I bought this because of the reviews, but you can't believe everything you read. The price is right, but it lacks functionality and accuracy. It's really good for a spot check, but I am sure there are better ones out there, and B&H probably has them. The most annoying thing about it is that when it's laying down on its horizontal axis (probably the most common position), there is a large blemish caused by the vent hole in the mold. This makes it almost impossible to get a good side to side read.

Bought this so I could put a bubble level on my Linhof 617s. My tripod mount has one too, but having one on the camera ensures I have the horizon correct. Got 2 of them!
