The Kenko 2x AF Teleplus DG MC4 teleconverter (also known as a tele-extender) will multiply the focal length of the existing lens by 2x, and will cut back the amount of light by 2 f/stops. For example, using a 2x teleconverter with a 300mm lens will effectively increase the focal length to 600mm. A lens set to f/2.8 will now be f/5.6.
Teleconverters are not recommended for lenses wider than 50mm, e.g. 28-105mm. However, full AF operation is only possible with lenses with open aperture of f/2.8 or brighter. Please be aware that AF will work properly only if there is enough light and contrast on the subject to activate the camera's AF sensors. Manual focusing is recommended when using lenses with smaller open f-stop value than those given above.

Comments about Kenko 2x AF Teleplus DG MC4 Autofocus Teleconverter for Pentax AF:
I tried the 2x converter on my Pentax K20D with DA* 50-135mm lens. Images are very sharp. The AF doesn't work, but that potential is mentioned in the literature. A friend tried it with a DA lens on his K10D and AF worked fine. I will use this extender with the 200mm DA* I have on order at B&H.

Comments about Kenko 2x AF Teleplus DG MC4 Autofocus Teleconverter for Pentax AF:
I've tried using this for wildlife/wildbird photography a couple weekends ago and I'm very disappointed.
Autofocus is extremely slow and unreliable. I'll probably return it and keep the 1.5x convertor.

Comments about Kenko 2x AF Teleplus DG MC4 Autofocus Teleconverter for Pentax AF:
I use this on my normal lens and my 70-300mm zoom lens. The AF feature is very slow on both lenses but the quality is decent. I simple focus the lenses and get my picture.
It is almost worthless at night for AF.
I do use the converter and it came in handy for long shots at soccer games last weekend.

Comments about Kenko 2x AF Teleplus DG MC4 Autofocus Teleconverter for Pentax AF:
I love this teleconverter. It is compatible with my K200D and many of my autofocus lenses. Those that will not autofocus still provide versatility of adding 2x to my photos. Outstanding for wildlife and bird photography. When using this, I would HIGHLY recommend using a tripod. The extra magnification also makes camera shake more apparent. All in all - a great value.
