Photoflex LiteDisc Circular Reflector, Soft Gold/White Opaque, 42" (107cm)
This is a Photoflex 42" (107cm), Soft Gold/White Opaque LiteDisc collapsible reflector. Photoflex LiteDiscs and MultiDiscs are designed for use in the studio, or on location. They add light to shadow areas, add or subtract color casts, or diffuse harsh light.
LiteDiscs come in a variety of sizes: 12, 22, 32, 42, 52" circular, and 41 x 74" Oval.
MultiDiscs are available in 22, 32 and 42" circular sizes. MultiDiscs start as a White Translucent disc, with a reversible slipcover that provides white, silver, gold and soft gold surfaces.
Pick the size that is right for the size of your subject. Pick the color combination that is right for the ambient light, or your creative direction.
Each LiteDisc has a sturdy spring-steel frame that is covered by a heavy duty white fabric. With a twist of both wrists (and a little practice), they collapse to 1/3 their open sizes. Each comes with a nylon storage bag.
Insure consistency and ease of placement by ordering a LiteDisc Holder. The holder, combined with a light stand, acts as a second pair of hands, locking the disc in the exact desired position. The holder also helps your assistant hold the disc flat and steady, especially in outdoor breezes.

- White Opaque - Produces an even, neutral-colored bounce light that works beautifully as a fill light source for both product shots and indoor/outdoor portraits
- Silver - Silver increases the specular highlights and yields a high-contrast, neutral to cool fill, depending on your main light source
- Gold - Same as silver, but with a warm tone -- best used outdoors near sunrise or sunset
- Soft Gold - Combination of gold and silver in a zebra pattern, with a semi-matte surface -- best for all-round fill
- White Translucent - Softens harsh light sources, may also be used as a reflector
- Black - Subtracts reflected light and color casts from intense backgrounds

I use this for reflecting natural light or to bounce my flash into when there's no time to set up an umbrella. It's fast to unfold and fold and very light weight. I use the white side when I have lots of light or with my flash. I use the soft gold when there is subdued light and I need a little extra reflectivity. It's better than gold because it doesn't add as much color.

I have used this recently for a couple of outdoor portrait shoots and love it! The gold/silver combo leaves a wonderful cast on skin when you want something just a little warmer than white reflection.
It is very light and easy to hold, my biggest complaint would be the white binding/edging (thus 4 instead of 5 stars) as I will be using this outside a lot and it already looks dirty. My other reflector is bound in black.

I am a serious amateur just getting into the complexities of outdoor portrait. The reflective gold side adds a lot of light for backfill, almost too much. I may use sandpaper and rough it up a bit to reduce the reflectiveness of it.

Folds up great and provides great coverage while still being portable. The gold side is a bit harsh on skin, I think I'm going to try taking some sandpaper to it to diffuse it a bit.[@]
