The Photoflex LiteDome XS Softbox with white interior is suitable for use with flash only. The X-Small LiteDome with white interior is ideal for work in small spaces when only slight softening of your flash is desired. Because of its small size, light quality will be more spectral with a faster gradation from highlight to shadow areas -- when you back it off from your subject.
The 12 x 16" size is ultra portable and lightweight. It can be taken on location easily. The softbox comes standard with a flush front face which is sewn in place. This facilitates quick setup time because there is no front face to attach. This softbox provides a quick, easy way of softening a small flash head or "on-camera" flash with an optional flash bracket.

I've used this a couple of times and the photo's have looked good. I use it ontop of a stroboframe at outdoor events or one where the roof is very high and dark so I can't use the strobo with a big bounce card. It's worlds better than direct flash with diffuser or omnibounce type diffuser.
drawbacks are the universal mount is too expensive but yeah it's superuniversal but a much cheaper generic mount should be made available. I made one out of bent aluminum in 20 minutes.
Also of note is it colors the flash light down from "flash" So adjusting your white balance from the usual "flash" setting is necessary. (closer to full sunlight seemed to work fine for me).

I bought this in-store as an impulse buy and should have done a little more research. The product itself looks and works well however it does not come with the bracket to hold the flash and softbox together. I went to use the softbox later that day and assumed the manufacturer had forgotten to include the bracket and was going to return it, but then doing a little online reading found out what my mistake was.
I ordered the Photoflex adjustable shoe mount bracket (B&H# PHCASMXSLD)online and will add a complete review once that arrives.

Comments about Photoflex LiteDome XS Softbox - 12x16x9" (30x40x23 cm):
It assembles so perfectly, that the front difussion material is tense, and it doesn't feel too heavy, nor it causes too much pressure on the flash's front end, because it supports itself from the strongest part of the flash unit (the rear)
The light is soft and even, but you loose 2 stops and from 6 ft, you light your subject from the knees up.

This product does what it is meant to do. I used it on a photoshoot this past weekend and it produced some great light with my 580ex II.

Comments about Photoflex LiteDome XS Softbox - 12x16x9" (30x40x23 cm):
I use this as a kicker light for wedding receptions. We use an on camera flash, and trigger this remotely for a bit of side lighting. It works great for this purpose, and it's so small that we rarely even bother breaking it down, we just throw it in the car. In a pinch, it's also usable for tight portrait shots, and it's super easy to carry around with you. The size is perfect for our usage, as it's not too big that it interferes with the DJ's rig.
Naturally this would not be the first choice for portrait lighting, but if you have a specific purpose in mind for it, it does it's job well. We have brought it to dozens of weddings and our gear takes a beating, but it's held up perfectly.
Obviously as it's made for small flashes, and not strobes, it's a lightweight unit, so if you are using it outside in wind, you'll need sandbags, or better yet, a person to hold it steady. This thing is fantastic indoors though, and it's small size is a bonus if you are working without an assistant.

I like the small soft box. It works great with my off camera flash. Not so sure about the hardware to attach it to the stand. I am still working it out. As of now it seems kind of wobbly but I'll watch the video again and double check.

I think it works ok, and it is helpful if you are always on the way. I rated it with 3 stars because you need a photoflex shoe mount (sku phcasmxsld) in order to make it work with your flash and I did not find that info before buying it. I also think you need to buy a few extra strips, because they don't look durable, i mean i think they do the job for a few months. (i have one month with in and ok so far)

I have yet to really put it through the paces but a few test shots show that is working well to soften the shadows on the subject. Small enough to carry along almost anywhere and I use it with my 430 EX II.

It's quite small but works fine just for face portraits. Due to its very light weight, it's great to take it with you for outdoors portraits. The size is also an inconvenient if you want to use it for a full portrait because it produces a harder light than a bigger softbox

Just getting into off camera lighting and this is my first softbox. Produces soft light for portraits and I'm able to break it down and fit it in my camera bag.

Comments about Photoflex LiteDome XS Softbox - 12x16x9" (30x40x23 cm):
Albeit I noticed the dimensions upon placing the order, be aware that this LiteDome Softbox is in fact pretty small. While I did use it in tandem with my 580EX II Speedlight to photograph some portraits of my younger brother both indoors and outdoors, it did a fine job.
Although, had I been aware of the Lastolite EZYBOX at the time of placing this order, I may have considered my options at further length. Considerably cheaper, this product does a fine job at diffusing the light - my only criticism is it's small size. In my opinion, it is suitable for individual portraits and work in close proximity, and not much else.
Set up time is relatively fast and can typically be accomplished in under a minute. Parts seem well manufactured and reliable and results remain consistent.
Additionally I was happy to see an included bag used for carrying the softbox and its components around it, which I store safely in my Pelican 1650 case.
4 out of 5 stars for its small size, but that's my fault.
5 out of 5 stars for cost, durability and portability.

Comments about Photoflex LiteDome XS Softbox - 12x16x9" (30x40x23 cm):
I work as a newspaper photographer and freelance portraits on the side. This lightbox has been a welcome addition to my umbrellas because of it's small size. I can keep it in my vehicle and put it together in seconds to shoot portraits of musicians, athletes, politicians and so on. The only real problem I've had with it is that it is such a convenient size that I left one on location and it was scooped up by someone not soon after so I had to purchase a replacement. I use larger lightboxes when I have the time to pack and set up larger lights, but these small lightboxes are fantastic when I use multiple flashes and want to control the amount of spill light in my images. Just remember that it is a small softbox, so you're limited to one or two subjects and there may be some drop off in the amount of lighting, but you can still create some great images with dramatic lighting.

Great modifier for a hotshoe flash or even as use as a hair light on a regular strobe, whatever use you might have for a small softbox.
You must buy the attachment method separately, but assembly is straightforward and simple.

I now have two of these and use both for portable studio and outdoor images.
I highly recommend this if you are like me and like to be portable!
One thing to make sure is that you buy the bracket which they are now selling separately. the first one I bought came as a bundle and I didn't realize that "normally" it doesn't come with it.

The Photoflex softbox is an awesome piece of equipment, it diffuses the flash very well. The overall compactness of the softbox makes it very portable. When assembled it is large enough to diffuse the speedlight to the extent that it looks like beautiful window light. Overall the compactness and the quality of this softbox is fantastic.
