The Photoflex On Camera XTCII Large Softobx softens the light from your flash and at the same time, helps it to spread out, making your flash work better with even your widest of lenses. The XTCII Large attaches with Touch Fastener to the front of your flash. The softbox holds it's shape because you blow it up like a balloon.

Attaches easily with velcro. Enlarges and softens the flash to eliminate harsh shadows. Deflates and colapses easily to fit in any bag. I've had mine for several years and the only drawback is that the vinyl flaps that hold it to the flash head are starting to tear. For the price, this can't be beat! I'm replacing it with a Lumiquest soft box. I'll let you know the difference in several years (lets see the new one out-live this one).

Im glad I only paid [$] for this. I read in a book that one of these on-camera soft boxes would only be beneficial because I would grab the attention of passerby's asking why I had a pillow on my camera. Guess what? That happened the FIRST time I took it out, no joke. It does diffuse light for close up portraits. But I find I only use it when my lowest power setting is still too high. It works best for me at 1/64th power...anything above that, I don't really see why I would use it in any other situation.Another thing I didn't like was I had to adhere permanent Velcro to my flash which makes a pain for putting my flash in and out of its case...not to mention if I want to sell my flash in the future, I need to take the time to remove the Velcro.OH! And it is inflatable! you literally have to blow up the softbox and the valve is visible...a little embarrassing.

Comments about Photoflex On-Camera XTC II Softbox - Large:
I had one of these for years and it was really great for shooting people at events. The downside was that velcro on the flash when I needed to upgrade--couldn't resell it so I capped the velcro with other material and use that flash as a 2nd. The softbox itself developed some kind of gumminess on the plastic that rendered it unuseable on my new flash. But hey, it was over 10yrs old by then. I want to get something like this again because it deflates and rolls up. You can stash it anywhere and grab it when you need it.
To the first guy: Nobody ever remarked about a pillow on my camera. I got great, very sellable shots with this, when bouncing just would not work. If you are embarrassed to blow it up at a job, take a look around at the other guys with their white cardboard flaps rubber-banded onto their flashes. Nobody who matters cares what you use as long as you get the shot right!

Was looking for something that would even out and provide a softer flash... It appears I've found it. The softbox really provides a broad cast of diffused light. Takes up less space in my bag than the flash itself... Priced right and worth every dime.

I like it, spreads and diffuses the light well, I combined this with my omni-bounce diffuser and the effect is nice, soft light.

- I use this with the not so great SFD35C Flash as filler and off camera using wiz's.
- This really fills teh room, and does'nt shorten the max distance of teh flash.
-Superlight, easy to assemble/ disassemble.
- I am worried that it will get hot, melt and burst when full-flashing continously.
- It draws attention, wich is great sometimes, but not that great when photographing animals (dogs, cats etc.), and small children (they think it is a balloon. I almost lost it to the claws of a cat the first days i had it with me.

This softbox worked very well at an event I shot outside under a tent. One drawback was that in some shots there was an area along the bottom of the frame that looked shadowed. Not sure why...have to experiemtn more. Overall it did the job.

Comments about Photoflex On-Camera XTC II Softbox - Large:
I use this Softbox primarily for wedding photography. It does an excellent job of softening harsh shadows and hotspots. It deflates to become very small and easy to pack away in a camera case. It is a little annoying to have to inflate it before use but the ability to stash it anywhere when deflated makes up for this nuisance.

I took several pictures at night in a party setting and the light was not that different than firing the flash without it. I was using the camera auto settings.
