This is an Impact 30" White Reflective Umbrella. Umbrellas soften, broaden, and diminish the light output of any tungsten or flash light source. Umbrellas with a white interior will soften and weaken light more than an umbrella with a silver lining.
Choosing umbrella size is determined by the size of the subject, and the strength of the light supply being used. Choosing an umbrella surface is as subjective as choosing a paint and brush.
Suggested use: 1 or 2 person head shot.

They seem to be very cheaply made though, since they are well, cheap. I haven't had trouble with mine, but they do not have the solid professional feel of my westcott umbrellas, for example. On the flip side I'm not nearly as concerned about them getting damaged on location, since they aren't a huge investment.

Light weight design, but I expected that for the price. I needed smaller umbrellas for my room because I'm tight on space and these work well.

This purchase is part of my early exploration into studio lighting. The price is reasonable and it gives me the ability to light posed pictures in my home. The quality is very good. I can see that it will be handy for other things I might try.

I use these with my Lowell Omni Action Lighting kit. and they work great to direct, spread and soften light to really make scenes pop. I like them a lot.

I needed 30" to widen my frame in a small studio. Prior I was using two 38". It's amazing what an additional 16" makes, but I am still getting the light diffusion I need.

A good umbrella overall. Reflects the light well enough. A bit too thin, but that could be just how this one is. I needed a quick umbrella for a shoot & this one works fine.

Cheap piece of equipment, for a cheap price. Opened this thing up for the second time ever, the locking mechanism broke and now it wont stay open! I'm going to try and DIY-it with a cotter pin, its not even worth the postage sending back for an exchange.
