JLCooper DAFV2 - Digital Audio Follows Video Interface

The DAFV² from JLCooper adds an essential interface to many digital audio mixers, by providing the ability to respond to ESAM, Grass Valley GVG and Kayak DD protocols, and in process turning your existing digital mixer into an audio-follows-video mixer. In the past, audio-follows-video mixers have been somewhat limited in flexibility and features. For a given application, there may not have been enough audio inputs, or outputs, equalization, or bussing capability.

The DAFV² overcomes that problem, by allowing you to choose your own digital mixer for the functions. The unit receives RS-422 commands, using ESAM 2 and GVG 100 protocol and then outputs MIDI commands to control the digital audio mixer. Commands from the edit controller allow your mixer to automatically perform audio transitions, cuts and dissolves in perfect sync with video. Start and Stop Transition, Set Rate, Set Program and Preset Crosspoint and Set Fader Level Commands are supported.

Your edit controller's EDL (Edit Decision List) lets you specify the in and out points and the type of edit. The DAFV² automatically detects commands from the controller, determines which protocol is being sent and configures itself to receive either GVG or ESAM2 protocols. TheYamaha DM1000, DM2000, 02R96, 02R, 01V, 03D, Sony DMX-R100, Ramsa WR-DA7, Tascam TM-D8000, Roland VM-C7100 and Mackie D8B can all be used for this automated audio-follows-video application.
