I needed a camera/laptop bag that could carry my main equipment. The D650 did the trick. Had used a camera back pack in the past but alway had trouble with the luggage compartments on the plane. No problems with the D650. On my last trip to Europe (June 08) I was able to carry a Canon 40D with battery pack (attached) along with three lenses (Canon Zoom Telephoto EF 100-400mm, Canon EF 70-200mm, & Canon Zoom Wide Angle-Telephoto EF 24-70mm) flash (Canon 580EX II Speedlite), Apple MacBook Pro (15") portable hard drive and other needed equipment.

This is a huge bag, with lots of storage, including a sleeve for a full-sized laptop. I can't really imagine filling this bag and actually carrying it around. The convenience typically associated with shoulder bags is somewhat lost with this bag due its sheer bulk, making it harder to swing around from front to back.
PLUS
-the usual great Lowepro construction
-lots of dividers and features (card wallet, etc.)
-zip top opening works well
-great shoulder strap
CONS
-waist belt too flimsy for a bag of this size
-desperately needs to have a double-directional zipper (like Tenba bags) so that the flap can open AWAY from you if you want

Comments about Lowepro Stealth Reporter D650AW Bag:
I do have for day to day the Lowepro Nova 160 AW, but when you are on long trips, you want to take all your gear for any possibility or any need, therefore the D 650 AW is the right size for all your gear.

Comments about Lowepro Stealth Reporter D650AW Bag:
I bought this bag for my new Canon XF100. The bag is light weight yet padded enough to feel secure that your camera is well protected. The bag is very roomy and holds my camera and loads of accessories; such as, Pro headphones, Wireless mics, wired LAV mic, shot gun mic, batteries, cables, and a lap top. There are also some nice features like the rain cover, the Compact Flash Card Wallet that can be attached to the bag so you wont loose your media, and multiple loops so you can attach additional Lowepro accessory cases to the bag.

Comments about Lowepro Stealth Reporter D650AW Bag:
This is truly a wonderful bag with every compartments that you would ever need or thing of, I could see that it would be very helpful for field photo journalists or wedding photographers. I returned it mainly because I have bad back and very slender shoulder, this bag looks a lot bigger than my hips! running around with it for half a day, with 2 camera bodies and withOut a macbook pro in it, it was killing me... I seriously missed my roller bag and thought how ugly but sweet that is... so, if you are beefy and strong, go for it! if you are a gal photographer like who do not like carry heavy weight for hours, it might not be ideal for you.

Comments about Lowepro Stealth Reporter D650AW Bag:
I use this product to store 2 kit lenses, a d7000, a 35mm 1.8, a 80-200 2.8, and other camera and lighting accessories.
I like this bag because of the great padding it has and also the ability to move sections around for your particular use. It fits almost all my equipment.
Only gripe I have with it is that it was bigger than I thought it was going to be. I wanted a bag I can lug around to shoots, but this ended up being to big. I am 270pounds and 5'7" and this bag is a little awkward to lug around during a gig. I would recommend this bag as a source to store all your media during on location shoots, where you can place it down the whole time during a shoot, but if you need a bag to lug around for more than two hours, I would recommend getting the smaller version.

Comments about Lowepro Stealth Reporter D650AW Bag:
This bag is great because it can fit a lot of equipment...which is good for photoshoots & traveling. Be forewarned that this is a huge bag though, so don't be alarmed or surprised when you see it in person. Perfect if most of the traveling you do is in a vehicle though, so as to lay it on the floor or on a seat. It fits up to "most" 17" laptops which is perfect if you need to shoot and then do on-the-spot post-production or email them immediately...or if just can't live without having your computer by your side. This bag isn't recommended for short or slim people as it will be a burden to lug around, especially considering what type of or how much equipment is inside the bag (a Canon 7D with the Canon 28-300mm L series Lens is already a lot of weight alone not including additional lenses, flash & other miscellaneous gear for example). The shoulder strap is super comfortable as it is thick with favorable cushioning. So many pockets and respective zippers that it's an OCD individual's dream. Memory card holder is well convenient, the all weather protective cover is a[n equipment's] life saver, the slot pocket for a smartphone/MP3 player/compact eReader/tablet is great as well and easily accessible. The security discrepancy that plagues the Lowepro Slingshot bags (and fastpack bags depending who you ask) doesn't exist here, even though this bag DOES benefit from the aforementioned bags' quick camera access slot. All zippers and pockets are covered with the flap and only a zipper on top is the only immediate access for the camera, other than that you'd have to set the bag down and open it to access other things; which means much more work for potential thieves. Speaking of which, despite its size the bag is very low profile (no pun intended) so it's not like you're carrying around the thieves equivalent of the Bat Signal unlike some other bags. No "steal me" logos here. All in all, a great bag, just know what you're gettin' into before you buy-that's what this review is for. Enjoy.

Comments about Lowepro Stealth Reporter D650AW Bag:
this is really handy for run and gun situations where there isn't much time to set up or when you don't know where you're going to be filming/shooting
Keep all my lenses in the bag when filming on a DSLR. Also hand cause keep my 15" macbook pro in the side there so it's nearby when you need to dump footage too

Comments about Lowepro Stealth Reporter D650AW Bag:
The bag is big and definitely not something you want to lug around on a continuous basis. Works great however gettting your gear from one location to another. Plenty of room for a lot of gear which all know can get quite heavy.

Comments about Lowepro Stealth Reporter D650AW Bag:
Plenty of room for my photo gear and accessories. Can get the HP 17" laptop in the compartment but find it's a bit tight. Will use that space for notebooks, maps etc. Not sure yet about all those velcro things but my stuff seems very secure in the bag. I use the bags to keep my gears in one convenient place till I get to location and then move items the my Humvee Photo vest to economize on weight. The bag is a bit heavy, but I only use it to transport. Very nice bag. The rainfly, Media holder and ditty bag are a nice touch.

Comments about Lowepro Stealth Reporter D650AW Bag:
This bag delivers typical Lowepro quality: It's sturdy, well-thought out, has plenty of room (It swallows my Sigma 180 Macro, several external hard drives, two long-lens Kata rain sleeves, several other bits and pieces, all well-organized), has a removable computer compartment, and has very well-damped straps. I use it to go on top of my Lowepro rolling 300 suitcase and it fits very snugly and perfectly in width and height ... Quality product, well done, Lowepro!

Comments about Lowepro Stealth Reporter D650AW Bag:
I use the Stealth Reporter to carry 8 lenses, 3 speed lights, 2 bodies, radio transmitters/transceiver, paperwork, batteries for cameras and flashes, gels, cleaning cloth, a remote, business cards, and CF cards.
Simply put, it works great. I've had photographer friends want to get one themselves. It is heavy as heck, so it's not the kind of bag that you are going to keep on you all day.
If anything, it's too well padded, and you cannot remove the laptop feature.

Excellent to fit everything - 2 camera bodies, 3 lenses, laptop, chargers, memory cards, card readers, newspaper journals - all together in one place! The only downfall is that it gets heavy because you want to bring everything. The best gift I ever received.

Another great experience with a Lowepro product. Plenty of room for 2 Canon bodies with attached lenses, including my 70-200 f2.8 with hood (reversed) and my HP 17" Mobile Workstation laptop. Pockets for everything, a memory card organizer and a zipped pouch for all these small parts and cables.

Comments about Lowepro Stealth Reporter D650AW Bag:
This is a very large bag with plenty of room for a laptop plus a lot of camera equipment. It is about at the limit for airline carry-on. I use the bag for traveling - you'll need something else when you get where you are going - but there is plenty of room for a DLSR inside a small bag inside.
The reconfigurability is both a plus and a minus.

Comments about Lowepro Stealth Reporter D650AW Bag:
I did a lot of research before I bought this bag. Suffice it to say that it's big enough to hold more than one DSLR and several lenses.
I bought it because I grew out of my Tamarac Sling bag, and needed something bigger to build my kit in over time. I can already tell that it's going to get heavy when maxed-out. That's the trade-off...space and weight.

Comments about Lowepro Stealth Reporter D650AW Bag:
I, like many photographers, have acquired every kind of photo bag, case and backpack ever made and finally settled on the Stealth Reporter series for my gear. I use four of them, sometimes five, to pack everything I need on a trip: lenses, cameras, camera strobes and external battery packs, everything but tripods and light stands. Everyone has different uses and needs for bags, I've finally and happily settled on this Stealth Reporter series.
