I have not been able to use this device on my Windows 7 laptop. I cann't get their tech support to answer the phone, they did respond in an email with instructions that were very complacated and hard to follow. Their instruction said that once you were able to connect the device every time you need to use it you must hold the f8 key down during computer start-up. I finally gave-up!!

Tried to install it with Window Vista by downloading Vista beta version from the web site and following the instructions exactly but could not get it to work; the problem is the driver not digitally signed and Window refuses to install it.
Moved to a Win XP computer and the installation went smoothly. The software is easy to use. Be sure to use a high end S-video cable. Initially I used a composite video cable came with the product and the video images got jerky and unstable.

We recently discovered about 30 VHS tapes at my parents home. We discussed copying them so that each family member could have a copy. Someone recommended taking them to a company to convert them to a DVD. When we found out it would cost about $20 per tape we changed our plan. I bought the converter from B&H and have enjoyed doing the conversion myself. It is very straighforward and easy to do. I don't have alot of free space on my hard drive and have been burning it straight to a DVD. I want to check into seeing if there is a way to make the video go to an external hard drive so I can do some editing but haven't had a chance to find that out yet. All in all, I would highly recommend this product to anyone looking to convert VHS to DVD.

If you run 32 bit Vista, you must download drivers and install exactly according to the directions or you get errors. After that, the product works great particularly with VHS tape conversion. Easy to use. Would recommend this to anyone expect those using Windows 7 64 bit version (there are no drivers for that yet).
