Use this simple, white satin umbrella to bounce a strobe light source, or to shoot light through. Both methods will soften and broaden the light output.
This umbrella is intended for use with flash sources. Prolonged use with constant, or modeling light sources over 250W will eventually result in discoloration or scorching.
This size is perfect for a 1-2 person head, or head-to-waist shot, or a 4x6 ft product setup.

Comments about Photoflex 45" White Satin Umbrella:
I use the umbrella for outdoor portraits and it provides good lighting. It's very sturdy with the plastics spokes-it's fallen twice already when I forgot to put sandbags on my stand, yet it still works well and has no damage. I've only used it as a shoot through umbrella, and it creatrs nice soft light. The only thing I wish is that it compressed better for traveling, the main shaft does not collapse to get shorter. Well made product.

Comments about Photoflex 45" White Satin Umbrella:
The umbrella works fine for reflective or shoot-through photography. The interior has a bit of a sheen to it. Quality is high. The metal center rod has a solid tip. The rod itself may well be solid, and seems sturdy enough. The small screws that comprise lesser umbrella mounts will put small dings in it, however.

Sturdy, smooth, and have a good large arc. I have been very happy with my Photoflex umbrellas and so when I purchased a new Alien Bee I added another one to my kit. I shoot my light thru these for soft portable light. These umbrellas have a solid shaft that is very sturdy and dies not crush after repeatedly clamped into place. I hope I have to wait a long time before this unit crashes down to the ground, but this new style has flexible (plastic?) spokes which look like they are able to take much more abuse than the metal ones of the past. Good solid unit, more than fair price.

Cheap and reliable. My last 2 umbrellas lasted 2 years. Would have last longer if it wasn't for the fact that they keep getting blown over when shooting outdoors.

Comments about Photoflex 45" White Satin Umbrella:
Wish that I had experience with others, but as this is my first umbrella, I exhausted hours of research on reviews from here as well as Flickr. Glad I opted for this one. A lot of reviewers classify this as a "cheap" umbrella--yes, in price--but, not in quality. I'm really impressed with the Photoflex build quality and weight of fabric. I could see this item lasting a lifetime. Unbelievable value.

This umbrella gives you wonderful diffused light! I mainly use it as a shoot through with a couple of speedlites, and it performs wonderfully! I have worked with some professionals who use this also.
