I am using this adapter to adapt my mini-DVI MacBook output to connect via DVI cable to to a Viewsonic VX900 monitor. It does the job as it should.

I bought this to connect my MacBook to my HDTV (via another DVI to HDMI cable) and it works fine. My one complaint is that it fits loosely into the mini-DVI port on the laptop and any jarring is going to dislodge it, I wish the fit was more precise.

It works fine. What's disappointing is that this proprietary device is needed in the first place to give the Mac Pro two monitor outputs. It should be included in the cabling at the very least, instead of setting up your new computer only to find you can't use your second monitor until you buy something else.

It works. The only issue for me was that if you use a DVI to HDMI adapter this will not carry an audio signal so you'll also need an 1/8 in stereo cable to go from a laptop to a monitor/TV.

When I ordered the adaptor,[...] It took all of 30 seconds to hook up. My MacBook fired up the new monitor without my having to do anything. The connector to the laptop takes up very little room and doesn't interfere with the other devices I have hooked up. The adaptor seems well constructed, no loose parts, nothing cheap. I unhook the laptop often to move around the house and, so far, haven't had any issues with the adaptor.

I needed this adapter so that I could hook up my MacBook to an external monitor for projects that required multiple - and larger - screens, like photo and video editing. I could not be more pleased.

I searched locally, which yielded no luck. Then I did an Internet search and ultimately went with B&H. I deal with B&H a bit for photography equipment and I was always satisfied with the service and peace of mind. I figured I couldn't lose by ordering this item from them.

I have not found any problems with using this item and, in fact, it works against other reviews I came across during my research. That I can probably attribute to one of two things: I have not used the item long enough; and those people with negative reviews probably received "duds." The latter is highly possible; even brand new cars and other electronic equipment come out as "duds."

At any rate, I am extremely satisfied with this purchase - did I mention I got it for much less than other places are selling it for? - and my computer-ing and Internet experiences are much more enjoyable these days.

I would definitely recommend this product to anyone that needs it. It gets the job done, and the finish is clean, too.

This is for DVI-D signals only. Be aware of the flavor of DVI connection you need and get the correct connector or additional converter.

Anyone with the mini-DVI output on their Macbook will need this to connect to an external monitor. And anybody doing serious work on a Macbook should consider an external monitor lest you ruin your eyes. B&H had a fair price (considering the high cost from Apple) [...]. Best overall deal without buying from some shady website selling a bunch of unrelated junk.

I mostly use the adapter for presentations in conferences and on the road. It's solid and works well, but it's just another thing to lose on the road. If you pair it up with the right DVI-VGA adapter you'll be able to make presentations on most displays.
