I've had a few of these K&M A-Frame Acoustic Guitar Stands for years and they have been great. Recently, I bought a couple cheap copy-cat stands that were a fraction of the price and they were really poor. In the long run better to pay more and get a quality stand that you will enjoy for years and years. However, for gigs, maybe the cheap ones will work, since I lost a stand at a gig once and I would hate to lose a K&M!

K & M makes great gear that is by far physically superior to that of other brands. I have two of their stands (one of which I have had for 16 yrs) and the quality can be found in the materials they use, as well as they welding joints.
