London Solo Strings from Big Fish Audio is a virtual instrument featuring solo members of the string family. The violin, viola, cello and the oft-omitted contrabass were sampled in 24-bit resolution, played by world class performers with top flight instruments, including a beautiful violin from 1740.
Articulations include arco, marcato, martele, spiccato, sul tasto, ponticelli, ponticelli tremolo, half step and whole step trills, tremolo, pizzicato, ricochet, short, medium and long crescendos, harmonics, Bartók (snap) pizzicato plus a huge assortment of FX per instrument. At just over 3.75GB, the library delivers realism and flexibility.
London Solo Strings functions as follows:
- Stand-alone under ASIO, Core Audio or DirectSound
- Plug-in for applications supporting VST, Audio Units and RTAS for Mac OS X
- Plug-in for applications supporting VST, RTAS and DXi for Windows XP
- Instruments include solo violin, viola, cello, and contrabass
