This Jobu-Design LVL-SA Bubble Level is a single axis tubular style level that offers two hotshoe mounts for allowing perpendicular attachment positions on your camera, letting you level your camera in either left-to-right or front-to-back.
Mounts effortlessly into the hot shoe of any standard 35mm SLR camera, to help achieve a finer degree of accuracy in capturing image content. Ideal for QTVR shooting sessions, for landscapes, or anytime a straight horizon is crucial.

[...]it was not level. It wasn't off much, but it should be nearly perfect.

Comments about Jobu Design LVL-SA Single-Axis Clear Bubble Level:
This hot shoe bubble level is really small and won't interfere with anything when using your camera (unless you want to use a flash on the hotshoe of course).
It can be mounted in two different spots, and it is thus possible to also put your camera into vertical position and still level it.
What I don't understand is, why the actual bubble is so small. I have noticed this with other bubble heads as well--wouldn't it make more sense if the bubble would actually fit exactly within the lines? That's how levels for construction work... strange.
Another small thing that irritates a bit is, that there is a slightly visible line across the cube, which must be from the casting. While it is barely visible, it may irritate a bit when centering, as this is not meant to be a centering line.

Comments about Jobu Design LVL-SA Single-Axis Clear Bubble Level:
I debated on whether to buy an one axis vs two axis level. I decided on the one axis because it is more compact and cheaper, and I seldom have to use the two axis feature. Imagine when you try to compose and level your shot, in most cases, you don't want the horizon to be in the middle of the frame, that means your camera will always have to point slightly up or down, so the second axis is usually useless. Another thing is using the bubble allows you to compose candid shots without having to look through the finder. Just use a wide angle lens, hold the camera at about waist height, point the camera towards the subject, use your stomach to steady the camera, the camera is also supported by the camera strap around your neck, look down at the top of the bubble to level the camera, then take the shot. I have very shaky hands, but this method allows me to take indoor candid pictures at about 1/30 sec or longer.

I use this bubble level with my camcorders. Whether you are using a tripod or not leveling a camcorder is always challenging and getting it accurate with the horizon is a must for good video. If you have a problem with leveling this is a must buy.
