Visual Echoes FX2 Better Beamer Flash Extender for Use with Telephoto Lenses - for Canon 540EZ & 550EX, Nikon SB-25 & 26, Sigma EF500 Series
The Visual Echos FX2 Better Beamer Flash Extender will help increase the reach of the flash and increases the flash output by about 2 to 3 f/stops. It focuses and concentrates the output of the flash into a narrow beam via the fresnel panel that gets positioned in front of the flash. This allows shooting at greater distances and shooting with smaller apertures.
The Better Beamer is designed to be used with lenses 300mm and longer, and its rugged, injection-molded plastic side supports are attached to the flash head by a sturdy elastic "hook-and-loop" band. The rigid supports hold the Fresnel screen in place in both horizontal and vertical formats.
The FX2 version will fit larger flash heads, e.g. Canon 540EZ, 550EX, Nikon SB-25 and SB-26, Sigma EF 500 series, Minolta 5600. The measurement between the two attachment flaps is 1 3/4".
- Excellent for wildlife and birding photography, where long-distance fill-flash is often required, especially with a bright sunlight background. The use of fill flash opens up the shadows without the appearance that a flash was used.
- When used with TTL flash metering, exposure is automatically set by the camera and flash, and no special compensation is required.
- Reduces the drain on battery power by two-thirds.

All around a good product and a must have for the type of shooting I do ( Birds and most importantly Warblers) They only drawback is that being used in windy or other harsh conditions it doesn't last forever -this is my 3rd in as many years. The nature of the beast.

Fit my flash perfectly. It is a little over-priced but not so much that I feel the need to build one myself as others have done. More power to em. If your gonna shoot birds in all situations, you will need this. 4 stars cuz of the price only.

I'm using this for fill flash, while photographing birds. It seems like the lens could be made our of stiffer plastic, but it is maybe made flexible and less likely to brake. It only takes about 30 second to assemble which is really nice. It is very light weight, and when you add the flash and a heavy lens it does not add a significant amount. I would recommend this to other photographers.

Works as advertised. I bought this one for use on my Sony f58am flash and the fit is just OK. I the included velcro mount as well as Gary Fong elastics to mount it firmly.
