The D888 Digital Recording Studio from Korg combines high-quality audio with ease of use for those needing digital quality with familiar controls.
Though designed in a traditional analog fashion, the D888 offers full digital capability. The unit is also lightweight and portable, making it ideal for use in the field, as well as in your studio.
The D888 records your audio in a WAV file format onto the internal 40GB hard drive, which makes it easy to share with other systems. Each of the 8 tracks can be recorded or played back simultaneously. The unit also offers 64 virtual tracks, as well as 11 different types of effects, and non-destructive editing.

- The familiar design of an analog mixing board meets modern digital technology, giving you easy control with a full set of features. Each channel offers trim, 3-band EQ, effect send, and pan controls, with each having a dedicated, real-time knob

- WAV Format Recording
- The D888 records WAV files to the internal hard drive, which connects to your computer using a high-speed USB 2.0 connection. The unit appears on your desktop as a mounted drive
- MIDI Output Time Code
- The MIDI output sends a time code so other equipment can sync with the D888
- Higher than CD Audio Quality
- The D888 uses 40-bit, 44.1 kHz processing across the board
- Non-destructive Editing
- The non-destructive editing tools of the D888 allow you to copy entire sections of your audio, as well as swap tracks or erase. Undo and Redo allow you to hear both the "before" and "after" versions of any edit. Punch in and punch out recording allows precise overdubbing and fixing of sour notes

- 11 Effect Types
- Instantly selectable from the front panel, each channel has it's own send knob. Create the perfect mix using the global return knob. Effect parameters are editable from a front-panel knob, keeping with the unit's real-time approach.
- Internal Metronome
- The metronome can be sent from both the Master and Monitor outputs, or just the Monitor outputs, so musicians can follow a click-track during recording or performance.
- Backlit LCD
- Easy viewing in any situation.

I've had this about a month. [...]I got it to replace a nearly 20yr old analog cassette 8 track in my home studio. The mixer really is, pretty much, like any other analog mixer. With a little help from the manual I recorded a few tracks at home on day one. The next day I recorded my band well enough that we could put it on a popular website online. :)This thing is everything "they" say and more.Easy to use, compact,...etc.The 8 direct outs are perfect for recording at our space and bringing it home to plug into my 24 channel board.The only reason I gave it a 4 is that it doesn't have inserts.I love it!

Made ideally for live applications, it handles over-dubbing perfectly as well. i definitely wont be getting rid of this anytime soon, even after i upgrade.
