The beige National Geographic NG-5162 Earth Explorer Backpack, Medium will hold a day or two's worth of hiking equipment, personal effects, and photo or video gear all in one. It has three compartments for camera equipment, personal items or hiking gear and a laptop computer section. There are numerous pockets for accessories.
- Padded cotton hemp-blend backpack for photo or video equipment plus hiking gear
- Earth Explorer bags are treated for water resistance and include a nylon inner shell for excellent moisture protection
- Quick-snap buckle allows easy access to your equipment
- Special connecting points allow you to tie on more gear such as an ice axe, walking stick, or sleeping bag

- Lower photo padded compartment holds a camera/camcorder and accessories, such as; lens, flash unit, batteries, cables, charger, etc. This compartment features a set of modular dividers that allows you to adjust the bag to your gear
- Upper personal storage compartment, which opens by a large pull-tight flap, holds all of your personal necessities, such as food, clothes, books, etc. If necessary, the division between the upper and lower compartments can be removed to create one large storage space
- Rear padded laptop compartment holds a 15" laptop and accessories, which can be easily withdrawn through the side zipper or the main compartment
