The PM8 from SM Pro Audio is a stereo summing mixer that sums eight channels of audio down to a stereo output. The unit is unique in that it can be used both as a completely passive device, allowing the user to utilize their choice of make-up gain, or as an active device with an output gain stage that feeds two separate stereo outputs.
Each channel has a volume, pan and mute control and the two output gain stages have independent volume controls. A second unit can be added for those situations that demand an extra eight channels. The unit is also a perfect tool for merging hardware synths and samplers into a hardware or virtual mixer.
Note! Power is only required to operate the "Master 1" or "Master 2" make-up gain electronics. If passive operation is preferred the user should use the "Passive Output" pair which does not require mains power connection.
