The Anton-Bauer EgripZ Handheld Camcorder Support is an ergonomic grip that helps small camcorders handle like larger, heavier systems, but without the requisite backache. Wide, flexible handles allow one hand to smoothly and efficiently support the camera while the other hand is free to manipulate the zoom, focus, and iris controls. The handles can also be twisted in opposite directions or to one side for use as a shoulder or chest mount. Designed for use on any camcorder utilizing a 1/4"-20 tripod mount and guide pin socket, the EgripZ brings a simple, affordable level of comfort and smoothness to handheld shooting.
Observação! Most DSLRs, which do not contain a guide pin socket, will not mount properly on the current version of the EgripZ.

Have done A LOT of research to find a product to help with holding and steadying my Sony HVR-Z5U. This simple and well constructed tool has in it everything that is needed to assure support and balance which equate into smoother shots and no fatigue in the arm/shoulder/hand. Hooking it up to a monopod broadens the scope of the usefulness of the monopod.
This is a great solution for a price that is WAY less than what most other steadying/support tools cost. THANK YOU!

I was pretty mad when I first tried using this on my Canon T2i. The screw is really short, and there is a plastic button that pops out on the stabilizer next to the screw that prevents it from being connected to my SLR. I went as far as going to [...], buying washers, hex nut, and srews to extend the screw on the stabilizer and connect it into my T2i. Thought it was going to work perfectly, but that little plastic peice still got in the way. I was about to give it up and sell the thing, but I ended up investigating the plastic button, and it has absolutely no purpose (except to ruin lives.) So I ended up having my boyfriend shave the little peice of plastic off. And voila! It now works like magic.

this does what it claims to do. I use it with or without a tripod/monopod. No matter how I use it, it adds more stability and steadiness to my shot. I see lots of complaints about the screw, it's really not that big of a deal to me. Takes me no time to get it on and start shooting.

Two main problems that you will find with this product: GUIDE PIN and SCREW IS TOO SMALL
1. Guide pin you would need to remove - I drilled it out.
2. Screw appears to be very small to mount a DSLR safely - but it is NOT. You just have to take a coin to tighten the screw from the bottom of the support.
I bought it for Nikon D7000 and use it all the time. Perfectly removes small shakes. Overall very happy with it

The flexible handles are too much so... they bend under the weight of a serious camera (I bought it for my EX1 which it was recommended for). It might work for a lightweight DSLR like a T2i with a short lens, but the money you save by not buying this will go towards a better, more rigid support.

I have a Panasonic HVX 200. When I started using this, it made this old camera guy very happy. SInce we are now having to use these small cameras, anything that we can do to deal with the imbalances that the camera companies are coming up with is a huge help.

Ok so the whole product is fine. It is small, light, bendable.
Only problem: the screw.
The screw is SO small. It is literally impossible to mount a camera on there. There is this black piece of plastic right next to the screw that sticks out, therefore when you try and mount the camera, you cannot screw it in.. because that piece of plastic is just blocking the way. And anyways, the screw wouldnt even fit in the camera hole. I've wasted 80$ on this. I'll probably re-sell it.

I used the EgripZ to shoot the handheld shots for my thesis film. I am really happy with its durability and that it is user friendly. Its very light weight and makes using with heavier cameras ideal because lightens the load on your wrists. I absolutely love the flexibility, no shot is impossible with this tripod.
Con:
The screw to attach the camera is a little short. (It can only be used on certain cameras)

does the trick for the ex-1, I can operate hand-held without using that gauld-awful camera hand-grip. The E-gripz does the trick!

I picked up an EgripZ after eying a Manfroto FigRig for the better part of a month, but was unwilling to shell out the $700 bucks for the wheel and the attachments. After reading the reviews for the EgripZ on this site, I figured it was cheap enough to buy and try out.I am so glad I did. I cannot believe how simple and amazingly helpful the device is. The handles have a perfect feel and grip to them and can be adjusted quickly (though it sounds like you are snapping a handful of twigs when you do). I have also found I can force them into several positions to shoot from the ground or a ledge dead even.I wish the had a quick release, as the rig and my Canon XH-A1 are impossible to store when put together, but seeing as you can screw it off in a few seconds by using the edge of a quarter, I can't complain too much.I am still eying the FigRig, but it would have to be amazingly good to match this value for cost.

This has got to be the simplest and coolest more useful tool I have ever purchased. When I fist saw it on this site, I quickly dismissed it. But after reading the reviews .... well all these people couldn't be wrong so I ordered it and I'm glad I did. It is so easy to use and actually works! I mean seriously. I do leave my tripod quick plate mounted underneath this thing for easy on and off the tripod. I love how it bends easily but is still firm. It's just every so versatile. I was pretty amazed at how absolutely stable my handheld shots are just from having one side of this thing pressed against my forearm. It also made my camera seem so much lighter to handle and less cumbersome.

It is not that it is bad, rather not the first thing I grab. Speedy deployment it is not. It really helps when you are using a small camcorder.
Camera has a tendancy to tip easily requiring operator to have a death grip on the grip!

The pros are: a great tool for good on-hand camera stability. However, it limits your ability to control zoom and on/off functions. It works great until you start loading more weight to your camcorder, such as: hot shoe lighting or cordless microphone receivers.

I use this product with my Sony HVR-Z7U. It's bendable arms and lightweight design make it easy to use. The Z7U is not an easy camera to use hand held, and this support unit makes it much easier.

IT'S A FINE STABILIZATION SISTEM FOR HEAVY CAMERAS, EASY TO USE AND INSTALL, SO I USE IT WHEN I HAVE NO TIME TO SETUP THE STEADYCAM LIKE ON UNEXPECTED SHOOTS WHEN FILMING A DOCUMENTARY, BUT NOT AS GOOD AS THE STEADYCAM JR. GREAT PRICE.

Extremely helpful in steadying shots, makes a world of difference. A bit of a pain to take on and off the camera, its clearly designed to stay put. Hard to store with it on, but overall a great purchase at a good price!

I used the product mounted on a 35mm slr camera. It worked fine but I had to saw off a plastic nipple from the mounting plate in order for it to mount to the bottom of the camera. I really like the flexible handels. The product is worth the money.

You may be looking at the picture wondering how this is a good stabilization device but it really works and it's so cheap. You combine this with FCP filter "steady cam" and you can get moving shots as smooth as the Shining. They won't be as clear, but as smooth. Put one hand holding from the top of the cam and one hand on the extended hand of the egripz to get the smoothest motion shots. Having to carry a quarter around to put this thing on doesn't bother me at all the minute you put it on and feel the difference. You can even put this on a tripod
