I use this lens hood on my Canon WD-H58 wide-angle lens adapter. I had to grind down the inner plastic ring about 1/2mm to make it fit the lens. Really gives my Canon Vixia HF S20 camcorder a pro look.
The only thing I don't like is the set screw will directly contact the lens and leave a circular scratch! I super glued a small plastic flap over the set screw hole to prevent any scratches! What was Cavision thinking with the poor set screw design?!! I'm still glad I bought it. A much better design would probably cost a lot more. There is a 82mm (plastic) filter thread.

Read on the web, that with a little bit of work, it was possible to fit this on the Canon WD-H58 wide angle converter. This is true, and now after a bit of sand paper work, it fits perfect.
The lens hood itself is made of semi hard rubber/plastic, so it keeps its shape, but doesnt brake up in the bag.
And it also has a inside threading, so it is possible to mount a lens protection filter also.

I found this online and so thrilled to see that it wasn't going to cost me an arm and a leg, like other matte box style lens hoods. I wanted something to give my DSLR rig that cinema edge without breaking the bank, and this one was perfect! [...] I was able to use it for a wedding I was shooting that weekend. It made a world of difference is professionalism and we actually made a few more clients too! I would recommend this to both pros and enthusiasts alike. This is a great product and B&H is a great place to get it!

Like many others who bought this hood for the Canon WD-H58 lens I had to modify it to fit the lens. The hood is 77mm and the lens is 77.5mm (as per Canon's specs). Rather than do it freehand with my Dremel tool I decided to chuck the Dremel sanding drum into my drill press and made a jig with a small piece of plywood with two wood strips tacked on to form a V shape. Clamp the plywood to the drill press table, remove the rubber from the plastic ring on the hood (easy it just pops right off and on again)and the set screw, lay the ring flat on the plywood, slide it up against the V to locate it and then position all that with the sanding drum up against the inside rim (the edge that the Canon lens needs to fit into) of the plastic ring. Start up the drill press and slowly rotate the ring (go the opposite direction that the sanding drum is spinning) while keeping it tight into the V. Be careful not to remove too much material, you only need to enlarge the ring by 1/2mm. I then hand sanded the inside of the ring with a small piece of 320 grit sandpaper to buff out the roughness from the Dremel bit. I know this sounds like a lot of work but the whole thing took less than an hour to do.

I used this hood with the wide angle lens for the jvc gy-hm100u. The diameter of the lens was a few mm smaller than the hood, but magnetic tape affixed to the inside of the hood made for a perfectly tight fit.

I am using this on the Canon Wide-Converter WD-H58 for my Canon Vixia HF S11. I took my dremil and very, very slowly with a fine sanding tip took down a very small fraction of the inner hard plastic ring on the lens hood, whats nice is the soft outer hood is removable. I just kept taking down little by little till if fit snug over the lens. This lens hood plastic ring is 77mm and the WD-H58 is 77.78mm. I did this a little at a time and kept testing the fit so I would get a snug fit and not damage the lens or take down too much of the hard plastic ring. It works and looks great. I don't think it would have fit if I didn't do this, and I didn't want to force it on the canon lens and wanted to be able to remove it if needed.

I got this lens hood for my Canon Vixia HF S21, with the WD-H58 wide angle lens. I was a little concerned in the beginning because it almost seemed the wide angle lens was too big, but after a couple of tries and hard pushing, I got it to fit perfectly. The cool thing is that it has a thread, so I can put filters on top of the thread-less lens. Overall, this rubber lens hood is very good quality, performs very well, and gives a professional look. The only thing I can say is that the threads are made of plastic.

I really needed 77.5 mm, but after dermelling off .5 mm
it fit on my wide angle lens nicely. I needed the extra

This hard rubber lens hood compliments the Raynox HD6600 wide-angle lens on my HV30. In general, it does a nice job of blocking peripheral light and has a nice "grown up" look to it. Solid product, good value.

I have this hood on the Raynox 72mm wide angle lens on my hv30. it does its job and turns my camcorder into a professional-looking, and performing, machine.
Only problem I've encountered is that, when pulling the hood out of my camera bag, the rubber part detached from the plastic ring, but went right back together and hasn't come off since.

I purchased this item to film some family weddings and I wanted them to look as good as possible which is why I got this item to use on my Canon HV30 with Wide Angled Lens.
It defiantly reduced any glare I could have possibly got.
Unfortunately, I had to be really careful as it was made from rubber and distorted easily.

I got this for my hv30 wide angle lens. I had to wait a long time for special order. I finally got it and am pretty happy with it. The only downfall is it does not have a perfectly snug fit.

Using this hood w/a Raynox 6600 HD Pro WA lens. It fits like a glove and there is no vignetting at all. The hood is made of thick, heavy rubber (the mounting ring part is metal) and it is slightly flexible. Thumbscrew secures the hood very well to the lens. Hood does exactly what it's supposed to do; keeps stray light off the lens. Worth the money.
