Easy to install. Holds securely and the quick release has a nice positive lock and easily slides out when you want it to. Expensive but the fit and finish are great.

I love how I can pull the D700 w/ grip off in a snap! Gone are the days when I had to unscrew the camera from the plate.

The only gripe is the QR-C plate pushes the D700 back far enough that the center-of-gravity (CG) is thrown off; the bracket now tends to tip backwards. Still, it's worth the convenience.

Well built. Would be nice to ship instruction with the porduct. Should be standard with the bracket itself. But is works as advertised once setup. A must if you have the need for multiple bodies. You will need an additional mount and the C-SP subplate to make it worth your time with two bodies.

i think its a must have part. removing camera from the bracket isnt fast or convient. having the quick release makes it so. fast and convient is why you use a bracket in the first place.

Couldn't imaging using the Pro-E without the quick release. Makes removal of the camera from the bracket a snap! Takes a little while to get used to - you'll have to figure out how to hold the bracket and camera to release them but with a little practice it's like second nature.

Wonderful accompaniment to the custom bracket PRO-M, but should be included for the price, especially since the quick release for the tripod is already included.

But, it works seamlessly and is easy to use and I found it a totally necessary piece that I was sooooo glad to have ordered.

If you have a Custom Brackets bracket, you should have this. I started with the thinking that I only had the one camera, so why bother with the Quick Release? I mean, how long does it take to twiddle the thumbscrew to release the camera?

Then I got a second camera, and discovered this quick release plate is not only about switching bodies onto a flash bracket, but it makes the whole setup easier to handle.

And when my wife got a D300, I realized something like this would be essential since the profile of the camera (and thus the required mounting plate) changes according to whether she has the battery pack mounted or not...

I use it mainly for stock photography and events, on a monopod, is a quick way to get more stability.
I had previously a cheap make $100 thing what was flipping all around.This bracket I find it solid build and does the job.
All this small plates and quick releases what you buy to actually make it work faster are way to expensive and do not justify the price.
The bracket itself I found it expensive but since it does the job :-)
They should put the basic quick releses included with the bracket.

This quick-release kit is almost essential for use with the Pro-M bracket in order to mount the bracket's CMP camera plate to the camera. However, it is way too expensive for what it is and ought to be included by the manufacturer in the Pro-M Kit. Even more useful than the QR-C Kit would be a quick release mechanism for removing the camera from the CMP.

great if you have the bracket sitting on a table or tripod. if you have the camera to the bracket with the QR-C without it sitting or on a tripod, it can be kind of tough. other than that, it shouldn't be an separate accessory. instead, it should be included in all of the custom brackets that can take this accessory.
